Mt. Sac nursing program spring 2018

Good evening everyone.

My name is Nicole. I made this forum to connect with potential Mt Sac nursing students who may be applying for Spring 2018 admission. I'm am applying and wanted to see everyone's status, and maybe gain some insight on what is to come. I have not taken my HESI yet; I am taking it August 17th. I am also working on finishing up a summer class to know where my gpa stands for points on the multi criteria. I am between 76 and 83 points depending on my HESI score, gpa, and work experience. Not sure what the cutt off will be for the Spring 2018 semester, but I'm hoping I will have enough points. Hope everyone is having an awesome night. Hope to hear from future students.

Sime past post have mentioned the last wk in Sept. and the first wk in Oct.

I was wondering if you ever heard back from Rio, didn't you apply there?

Yes I applied to Rio too and another forum said they will email us around the second week of October and their meeting is the last week of October I believe.

I called the nursing department today and they said that they will be sending emails out sometime next week.

I am very nervous to find out the results. Most people said the HESI exam was super easy so I had the mentality that it was. Unfortunately, I struggled during the exam and feel like I'm the only one that thought it was hard:(. Maybe it's because I was recovering from a bad cold and wasn't myself? I don't know :( I ended up getting 79%. I studied for 2 months with the book and app. My total points I got is 81. I'm just nervous from where I stand because I know it varies from each application period. I wonder if they just focus on the points or do they also take into consideration of the GPA and the grades you get in the science classes. Does it help that I took ANAT 35 & 36 instead of ANAT 10A and B? I just need reassurance to get me through this waiting process.

I think they go by total points, but don't quote me lol. I would call the nursing department and check about the ANAT class. The hesi is easy if you've taken a Teas test before. It's not a piece a cake test especially if you haven't taken math or your science recently, but compared to a Teas test (which I've taken as well), it's pretty easy :-)

I remember getting a lot of physics and chemistry questions on the teas instead of anatomy & physiology and I've never taken physics in my life, sooooo yea that test sucked.

Hello everybody, I also applied at Mt Sac and just like all of you, I haven't heard back yet. I called them today and they said the same thing-they'll be sending emails sometime next week.
