mt sac nursing fall 2019

Published

Good evening everyone.

My name is Nicole. I made this forum to connect with potential Mt Sac nursing students who may be applying for Fall 2019 admission. I'm am applying and wanted to see others status’s, and maybe gain some insight on what is to come. This is my second time applying to this program; unfortunately didn’t have enough points the last time. As of right now, I have 74 points as long as I’m calculating correctly. Having an associates degree gives me 8 points, science gpa gives me 30 points, overall course work gives me 4 points, work experience gives me 5 points, life experiences gives me 2 points, I got a 89.29% on my HESI which gives me 25 points; totals 74. I know 74 points is pretty low so I am not getting my hopes up. Will be applying again for Spring 2020 if I do not have enough points this time. At that point I will have 77 points, which is still not a for sure in, but I will continue to try to raise my points until it’s enough. I may also start looking into other programs to apply to. Anyway, I’d love to from other potential student. How many points are you applying with? Applying to other school? Any advice? Etc.

Hi! I went to the application workshop yesterday in mt sac. By looking at the multi criteria system i calculated 84 points. My stats are:

AS in Pre-allied health from Citrus And LVN license

work experience in skilled nursing facility for 6 years as LVN

Second language

low family income & need to work

Hesi score of 82.89%

science gpa 3.5

it will be my first time applying in mt sac. But other than that i also applied to citrus college and azusa pacific. Those are the top 3 schools in my list cos of distance from my home. Also im thinking of ACC just for back up. West coast university is a NO for me.

Hi! I am applying to MT SAC too!

After calculating my points i’ll be going in with a 91.

AA - 8 pts

Science GPA - 35 pts

Other courses GPA - 10 pts

Work - 5 pts

Life experiences - 2 pts

Language - 1 pt

HESI - 30 pts

I hope more people find this page so we can all talk about this process. Stoked to get a response from the program already :)
