Hello, looking for updated information if anyone has attended the Mounts MSN direct entry program. All of the other threads are a little older. I have applied for the May 18 cohort, looking for advice on classes, houses, materials, etc.
Thanks
Hi! I'm also applying to this program for the August '18 Cohort. Do you know if every applicant receives an interview or if they are highly selective?
It is selective but if your grades are good and such, you'll probably get an interview. Dr. Glankler is super nice and really easy to talk to in the interview. I think 24 students were supposed to start with my cohort last month but there are only 19 of us now.
I created a FB Page for Fall 2018 cohort so we can get familiar with each other. Can't wait to meet ya'll! :)
hehe oopsie sorry about that! Well I was wondering if you can advice me on neighborhoods to rent an apartment that have coffee shops/ grocery stores near by. Any other info on cincy would be great! I am not familiar with the area whatsoever.thank you :)
It's okay! haha Some neighborhoods near MSJU can get sketchy. Delhi, where the school is, is fine but there's nothing there by way of coffee shops. The Incline District is very affordable, close to campus, and there's a nice coffee shop that offers discounts to students with ID. It's called Bloc (they're currently transitioning to a bigger cafe). There are some other great local coffee shops within ten minutes of that area as well. There are a few Krogers within a few miles as well for grocery shopping. Trader Joe's is about 15-20 minutes away and there's a Whole Foods about 15 minutes away as well.
I'm not sure what exactly you'd like to know. I mostly grew up in Cincinnati but was out of state for undergrad and spent a significant amount of time overseas. I moved back for this program basically. Cincinnati has a lot of great restaurants and a few decent museums (the art museum is free as well). There are a lot of hospitals in the area and a few really great ones that have national reputations, like Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
Edit: For any female Aug '18 cohort students who don't have pet allergies, I will have a spare room available by mid-end of July. I'm about ten minutes from campus with an amazing view overlooking downtown. Rent/utilities are affordable, building is safe/locked entry. Feel free to email me-- [email protected].

Hi Kiknox-- I'm a current Magelin student. I started with the January '18 cohort. I live really close to campus and will have a room opening up. Feel free to send me a message if you're looking for a place still. Also, any non-Cincy folks who have questions about neighborhoods and stuff feel free to message me as well. I grew up here so I should be able to point you in the right direction.
