MSMU ABSN Summer 2021

Published

Hello! I didn't see a forum yet for MSMU's ABSN Summer 2021 program, so I thought I would start one.

Hi guys you might all be in the face book chat now but I was wondering how you structured your essay for this application. I am actually about to apply for fall but kind of struggling with how to structure four topics in one essay.

Did you guys all have medical background? Any idea with how you wrote your essay would help!

Thanks!!

Hi

Yes planning to!

Awesome ! I think I will be applying too.. but I’m currently taking physiology and Microbiology during the Spring. Are you completely done with your pre recs?

My only pending class is physio. Are those the only classes you have left? I remember they mentioned that having two science courses pending will be hard to get in since its one of the major courses. But I would ask about that again!

Yes, I actually took Microbiology back in 2015 with a passing grade, I am retaking it since that course is now considered expired for this program. So physiology and Microbiology are my only classes left. Are you applying to any other programs ? I scheduled a phone appointment for March 11 to speak to a counselor.

You can have up to 2 pre-requisites in progress. Keep in mind that MSMU ABSN program also has 3 philosophy requirements (2 philo/1reli or 2 reli/1philo) that most people have not taken. Sciences just need to be IP. I had 4 non-sciences in progress and was not given an interview due to having too many courses in progress. When you attend the information session, they soft "recommend" having at most 2 pre-requisites, but if there's a lot of applicants, it's basically a hard must have.

Hi ,

did you end up applying somewhere else?

hey I am still in the process of applying but I am also thinking of roseman or concordia.

how about you?

I am thinking, Concordia and pacific college (ADN program)

Hi everyone,

Can anyone who was admitted give me insight about how classes are structured throughout the week? For examples, are practicum courses utilized for the entire day or as needed?

Thanks!
