MSC TABE Test

I guess this is a multi-question post:

I just have the spring semester left of my prereqs until I can apply to a community college. If I apply in Feb. or March, does anyone know about how long the wait is for a c.college?

Also, another option I was thinking of is applying to Maricopa Skill Center & getting my LPN & going right into block 3 after Im done with that, if theres less of a waiting list. Does anyone have annny info on that?

I made an appt to take the TABE entrance test next Thursday & at the orientation they totally freak you out by saying, "by the way, our entrance test has a 40% pass rate" .. has anyone else here taken that & do you have any advice?

Any info you can give me on any of this is truly appreciated!

OMG, it's no big deal, really! I am terrible at math and I dropped algebra this year(in tears too). I passed the TABE! Just brush up on fractions, decimals and other basic algebra skills. I can PM you more info about some of the problems in the math area. The spelling/reading/grammar was basic. Don't stress about it.

I don't really have an answer for the first part of your question, I was actually wondering the same thing. But as far as the skill center I would not stress over the TABE exam. Like the previous poster I struggle in math a bit but I have already ompleted Math 092 and 120 so the basics on the exam were still a bit fresh. Also if you type in a search for TABE you can probably find some practice exams, which is what I did but I can't remember the site. I am told that you can apply for advance placement once you finish the LPN program but I believe you have to pass the HESI exam first. There is advance placement info on the MCC Nursing website. I am scheduled to start the Maricopa Skill Center in August but I may just end up doing my pre-req's and applying to the program. They are suppose to be making some or one pre-req's into co-req's for the nursing program so that might help my decision also. Please message me if you have any other question. I will certainly help if I can.

does anyone know the exact start and end date of august 2008 session at maricopa skill center ? i know it's 13 months. but i'd like to know the dates ahead of time, IN CASE im admitted.

and also, do you know how long the TABE test take usually? 2 hours or so?

im gonna go to the info session in january and take TABE test on the same day. i need to arrange my daughter's daycare if the test takes more than a couple of hours.

any info will be greatly appriciated!!
