i cant be of too much help. but if you move to texas.. move to the dallas area. i can tell you from living here..there are beautiful areas you can live in..depending on your income threshold. the jobs are booming down here and with that much experience im sure you could easily get a job quickly. E V E R Y hospital in the dallas area is hiring..so definitely take a look. Baylor, the hospitals in TexasHealth, Denton Regional, Medical City of Dallas, Plano, Mckinney, North Richland Hills, Methodist Hospital..and the list continues.. go ahead and come on down =)
Welcome Y'all!
Glad to hear you are heading South - we can always use more experienced nurses & we LOVE Canadians!!
Since you can pretty much get a job anywhere in Texas, you may want to let your hubby's job search be the determining factor. Our cost of living is waaaay less than what you're used to. Just about everything is less expensive except air conditioning in the summer - LOL. We don't have state income tax and you'll certainly need less closet space to hold all those heavy winter coats .
If you decide on the Corpus Christi, Houston or San Antonio areas, feel free to PM me and I can hook you up with some recruiters.
Thanks for the reply's. My husband owns his own company that he does from home so he will not need to worry and he is 50% native and with the "Jay Treaty" he is allowed to cross the border and immediately live and work in the US. So it is basically wherever I want to work is where we will go. I want to be near the water so Houston or Corpus Christi areas will be the best!!

Hi all,
I am planning on moving to either Texas or Florida later this year with my husband and 3 kids from Canada. Just wondering where the best place to live and work is? Any advice would be helpful. What would the pay be like for an RN Tele with 10-11 years experience versus the cost of living?
Thanks in advance,
Laura
