Hi, there was a post earlier "Nursing in Sweden" that may help you. I'm currently going through the process in Germany and is a bit of a pain. It's taking months to get my license recognized here and I don't think it will be much easier for you in Sweden. Within the EU it is easy though.
As for learning Swedish...unless you learn languages really quickly, I would give yourself atleast a year to 2 before you will be able to have a safe conversation with patients.
All the best!!

Just looking for advice or personal experiences from people who have done or know about moving to Sweden from the US.
Little info about me:
BSN
Will have 1.5 yrs experience as a nurse before i move
not currently able to speak swedish but plan to study some before moving
Moving with the Swedish citizen husband, so i will not be requiring a work visa(at least i dont think i will) because i will be applying for a PUT(i think thats what its called) based on family ties. Currently we both live in the US.
Any advice would be appreciated. I really want to be able to work when i move or shortly there after. I read all the time on forums about english speaking midwives, perhaps there are dr's offices or such that are primarily english based...
