Hi, I currently live in Alabama, and want to move back home to texas. If I complete all of my prerequisits, and get to the point where I'm ready to apply for clinicals, can I apply in and be accepted in another state or do I have to meet there prequesits too? I'm sure all of my classes wont transfer, I recently moved here and lost A LOT of credits. Just wondering! Thanks!

My guess is that it would depend on the school you were attempting to enroll in. I'm in a similar situation, working on pre-req's, yet may wish to move before I have my R.N. I'll probably just hold off on moving so I don't have to retake classes or pay higher tuition.

For BSN programs, many students do the pre-reqs somewhere else, then apply to the school of Nursing for admission, just for the last two years of clinicals. So, its possible. you will need to meet all the prereqs from each school, usually though they are almost the same (A and P, chemistry, etc etc) I think it would be very difficult to transfer anywhere where there is a long waiting list, however.
Since you know which state you are moving to, call some of the schools you are wanting to go to and see what they say. Make a point (since you will later by applying for admission there) to find out who you are speaking to and send them a thank you for discussing the program at Texas Univ. with me....

Is there a website that lists schools around the country with the longest/shortests waiting lists?
