Hi everyone
I'm trying to figure out where to apply for school once I get to PA. I was actually going to apply to harcum but Ive heard such bad things about it on this forum. I was also thinking about Delaware CC for the ADN program and then Applying to Drexel for the RN-BSN.
Someone said something about one of the BSN programs only being 6 months longer than the harcum ADN??
I'm so confused on this and have no idea where to go. I'm looking for a full-time program and would really like to start working asap which is why I wanted to do the ADN first. I may going all the way to anesthesia which is what I really want to do but it all depends on how long it will take and how burnt out ill be.
I just want to make sure I get into a good program whether its ADN or BSN. I'm starting from scatch so I would think id have a better chance doing my prereqs at a CC or even both my prereqs and ADN then transferring out.
My thing is the quicker the better but I don't want to sacrifice going to a crap school just to get out faster either.
Please any advice would be great.
Also do they have any schools that contract you to a hospital once graduated? They do that here in FL
It says on their site that the program takes around 3 years to complete and that's NOT the BSN program, and that's after all the prereqs are done to even enter the program?? So how long will the bachelors be? Still 4 years? If it takes over 3 years for the ADN AFTER prereqs and only 4 as a BSN, that's crazy!!
Most ADN programs that are over 3 years are so bc they include the prereqs, but aria's doesnt. I wonder why it's still so long as just an ADN program? Hmm

Arias program DOES include the prereqs. http://www.ariahealth.org/default.aspx?pageid=3515 Like anatomy and english. So if you are say, a student out of high school, it would take you 2 years and 10 months to complete.
But depending on how many prereqs you complete prior....your time will be shorter. I am entering w/ an associates degree so i knocked off 2 semesters. I will be done in 2 years and 8 weeks. The 8 weeks is the capstone course where you work side by side with an RN and work with her/his schedule....you can put this on your application when you graduate as 8 weeks experience. I have so many classes done, that I am taking ones now that will be good for my BACHELORS from Penn State. Its complicated......
And as far as the bachelor program goes....they arent going to advertise that until it is complete. Right now we are in between. Its a transition.
@Jess i sent you my email.
@Bumblebee, you are very helpful...I am so thankful for this site! I am applying for September 2012, and I have so much worrying on my mind! I am a 2nd degree changer, so I dont think they will offer me much of any financial aid.
Anyone know if having your B.S already, and going for this program deters you from receiving any aid? Also, did anyone have any problems with Nutrition, math or physchology being accepted as a prerequisite? I am worried if they arent accepted, and I DO get into the program, it will take me much longer than 2 yrs that I see many of you will be completing in. UGhhhh..
@bumblebee477 do you know of any evening/weekend BSN programs in philly? I currently attend DCCC however did not score a high enough to get in to the 2012 program:throcomp: so I wouldnt be able to attend until fall 2013. Most programs I looked are during the day and it makes me want to . any advice would be greatly appreciate it
