Moving to NY from MN how do I practice?

Published

Hi everyone I look at this site all the time but this is my first official post.

I am moving to NY when I graduate, anyone know what I need to go through if I take NCLEX in MN to practice in NY? Much appreciated! Oh...BTW I'm graduating in 2009, but thought I should find out what I have in store.

You need to go for licensure in NY, nothing more than that. A license is required for you to be able to practice there.

You can go for initial licensure in NY, and write the exam in your state.

Where you write it has no bearing on anything as it is a national exam, and not state specific.

Check out the website for NY for RN licensure, that simple.

Moved your thread to the NY forum, since the NCLEX exam is only one part of the licensing process. You need to be accepted by the BON before you will be given permission to write the exam.
