Hi everyone, Im thinking of moving to CT within the next 6months, Im originally from Prov,RI. I've been a nurse about 1.5yr and have been working on med/surg Telemetry units, but recently Ive been doing ortho/surgical for last 6mos. Im trying to decide between three hospitals to seriously apply to: Norwalk, Stamford, or Bridgeport, depending on best pay, benefits, sign on/relocation bonuses, overall best care etc.... Ive been viewing some of the forums but havent quite got all the answers yet. I also have a year exp in long term care, so if anyone knows any good facilities for Per diem shifts, please give me some feedback on that also, I would greatly appreciate it. Would also like to add that I am trying to explore cardiology or oncology. Hoping to find my next position in one of these fields.
Thanks in advance,
Please help a girl out.....
Good thing to live near Yale- I don't know if you mean the hospital or the University- better the former, if she lives around the campus there are lots of cool places to hang out, new martini, piano bars, outdoor cafes, shopping, eating , theatre, museums, etc and very safe, has changed tremendously over the last several years,( makes me wish I were young and single again!) On the flip side the hospital is growing tremendously as well, has nearly 900 beds or so and is building a new cancer center. I would apply now, absolutely. Good luck.

Good, I see. Sounds like lots to do, Im single, just turned 30yrs old, definitely looking for things to do at night. Although, I do have a teen daughter(13yrs), so I also would like to do the family thing. But overall it sounds like the both of us could stay busy or entertained so the speak. Well thanks for the much needed info, it helps. Very ecxited about the move, cant wait to get my first offer. I will keep those med units in mind, not positively sure if they're one of the positions I applied for.:icon_roll

Thanks, I knew I could count on ya!:bowingpur I was wondering, is it too early to be putting in applications now for a Jan start date. Because I currently reside in SC and am waiting for after the holidays to migrate back. Im originally from Providence, RI , just got down here in August. I think I might've mentioned that before in an early post. But I gots to get back to New England ASAP, theres no money to be made in SC. I have sort of a sister like friend that stays in New Haven, she lives near yale. She said that it is growing tremendously, I was wondering if thats a good or bad thing. What's your opinion?
Thanks
