Hello. I am potentially moving to the Meridian, MS area this summer and am beginning to look at hospitals and jobs in the area and so far I'm not finding much. I have almost 12 years experience, 3.5 in the circulating in the OR specializing in trauma (general, Ortho, hand, neuro), however I am able to do most surgical procedures. Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of facilities to look into.
Thanks!

Well, you have pretty much have 2 options if you want to stay within Meridian--these hospitals are Rush and Anderson's (that's if you want to work at a hospital). When I was in nursing school I did clinical rotations at both hospitals (andersons and rush)--I had good experiences. It is best to go directly to the hospital websites to apply---I do not think you are going to come up with much using job search sites like indeed or simplyhired.
Meridian CC has a nursing program--- 2 miles from both hospitals and another nursing school is within a 30 minute drive from Meridian---so the market for jobs is pretty much saturated. You should not have a problem with your experience, but I would not wait for the new grads to graduate in May.
If you are interested in psych nursing there is East Mississippi State Hospital and Alliance. Mississippi is very rural--our largest city is Jackson, which is an hour and a half away from Meridian. There are at least 6 moderate to large hospitals in the area. My first job out of nursing school was at the University of MS Medical Center Kidney Transplant. I worked with several nurses who would work 7 on and 7 off who drove from Meridian. They would stay somewhere in the hospital rather than driving back and forth.
Good Luck to you!
Another option would be to look in nearby cities Philadelphia and Kosciusko, there are smaller hospitals, but surgical procedures are performed.
