Hello,
Im moving from San Diego, Ca to Nashville in a month in a crazy attempt for cheaper living and more oppurtunity to become a nurse. I flew back in January to visit and take the Net for the Tennessee tech Center @ Nashville. Im planning on applying to all the TTC's that offer the LPN programs in the surrounding area. Does anyone have any advice on the application process and how hard is it to get in? Im thinking of retaking the NET to get my math score up to a more competitive score. How is living in Nashville? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:bugeyes:!!

I'm new here and live in TN. I will tell you that if you are a resident of TN for 1 year, there are funds from the state lottery that will pay most of your tuition @ TTC!
Thank you for that! Did you attend TTC?
No, I'll be starting BS to MSN program at University of TN, Knoxville in June! There is an LPN program here in K-ville at TTC but I hear it has a waitlist. I think that due to the lottery funding, most TTCs have a waitlist for all of their programs. Good Luck with your program!

WHAT?????!!!!! State funds for tuition? I am a California transplant here myself and never heard of this. I have spent a solid YEAR attempting to get my license in TN and am finishing a Music Appreciation course online due to my "educational deficits" from my community college in California, where I have been an RN for over 10 years.
I have been solicited by numerous Universities to obtain my MSN or Doctorate but the expense was great. Are you telling me that this wonderful state of TN will pay for that???
Where do I sign up? I'm a bedside nurse who travels to California frequently (just returned yesterday) on my own dime but would gladly accept State aid to get an advanced degree. Sounds too good to be true.....
Yes! This is just for Tennessee Tech. Ctrs across the state. So, this is just for the person interested in LPN. Here's the link:
