Do you have a prior Bachelors degree? A lot of school give a huge a amount of merits to students with prior degrees, some as high 15 points on an application. Do the schools in your area give a lot of merit points based on a prior degree? I would try to find a school that doesn't give a huge amount of points based on a prior degree. Here in the Portland, OR area, my community college only gives 1 point on a 70 point application for a prior degree, so look at how the points are distributed to decide what your chances are. Besides that, I would look into moving out of states to get your nursing degree since there are so many people living in California, the competition is tough and in time you would spend being on a waiting list, you could be getting your degree in another state along with better job opportunities once you graduate. Look into other out of state school and see where you are willing to move, I am sure there are a lot of better options outside of California.

Hello, so I currently live in southern CA San Diego , I am a pre nursing student who still isn't finished with my pre reqs yet. But at least two people I know have 4.0s and at least an 80 on the teas test, and still can't get in an RN program. Should I give up on CA and move to another state for an RN program?
I have almost 100 grand in savings , I'm thinking I could live off that while I'm in another state. I also have two children, what do you think?
