Hi my suggestion is to apply to as many jobs in and around Boston but dont move till you are offered a job! The job market is extreamly tough here and you dont want to move with out an offer! I just moved back to Boston with one year experience and got hired in a ER in Boston so there is hope you just got to be open to all the hospitals. As for pay its around what you are currently making not including night differentials and all. Just keep in mind that Boston is a very expensive city to live in and you most likely will have to commute to work. Also you will have to pay to park where every you work, and most hospitals are Union so you will have thoes monthly dues as well! Good luck!
took me about 5 months to get a job and it was not even full time :) but there was always opportunities to pick up shifts. I had 2 years experience and put out over 30 applications. I ended up moving before I got a job because I was moving regardless. More places called after they saw my address change since they knew then I would be available immediately. Good luck!

Hi everyone, I am currently a pediatric nurse at a great hospital in Texas. I have 2 years experience and am considering moving to Boston in the next 6 months. I know the job market for new hires is terrible, but what can you tell me about jobs for a nurse with a few years experience, PALS certified, and previously in a nurse residency program?
I mostly want to move to Boston just because I am in LOVE with the city and want to get out of Texas! I need some honest opinions on whether I could land a good job in Boston or if I am delusional. Also, what is the average salary for Boston hospitals? I currently make around $30 an hour and am wondering how Boston salaries compare.
Anything you can tell me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
