Hi all! Haven't seen one for Spring application yet and I have some questions so I thought I'd start this!
It says on the app that we need closed transcripts from all previous schools. What if we have one on file with admissions, does this count? Only one of my classes is from an out of state school and on econnect it shows transfer equivalent. I have an email in to Self-Drake asking but thought maybe someone would know sooner. TIA!
Hello everyone, I have been stalking this page all day today lol. I did not think about applying the MVC until last minute but there deadline is closed already for spring 2019. I had applied at El Centro when there got shut down and that was bummer as it put me behind, especially when every nursing program require something different and money wise. Im a little confused on the point system for MVC... I looked at their website and it states admission is ranked by prerequisites +support courses and HESI. And I seen there was a point system of A-3pts, B-2pts, and C-1pt. Does that mean is 3 points for every prerequisite and support class you got an A B or C???? I'm confused. Can someone please help!!!!!
Hey! sorry about El Centro, you can still try for fall 2019 at MVC.So the point system simply says that if you have A in any of the pre-req or support courses, you get 3 points, for B you get 2 points and for C you get 1 point.
I hope you find this helpful.
Yes, I definitely will apply for Fall 2019. My goal was to apply at the Brookhaven spring 2019 program but my hepb titer came out negative So now I'm sticking sitting out another semester! Thank you so much for clarifying JNUX1 :) I just need PHED, Pathophysiology, and Math. Also do they accept HPRS-Pathophysiology as I took it for the El Centronursing program? And I'm taking statistics this semester (MATH 1342) Do you think that can substituted for College Algebra??
Hope you get accepted for this spring semester. Wish everyone best of luck! YALL GOT THIS

Sorry for the typos. My phone has a mind of its own
unfortunately they wont accept the HPRS, I also did it in another school, and Self-Drake told me they dont accept it. About the Math i am not 100% sure but to be on the safe side, have the College Algebra, though you can personally ask Self-Drake. She is so helpful.
Thank you so much, we are awaiting the emails for the interview! Making me super nervous but I am very hopeful.
No. You are literally in my shoes when i was applying! I had taken Hesi somewhere else excluding the a&p, which was not needed in my current school. i passed but Self-Drake told me I have to retake it in a DCCCD college, they dont accept anywhere else. You can only take it once in the school. So i suggest you take it in another DCCCD college then if not satisfied, take it again at MVC.
I hope this helps.

My titer also came back negative for Brookhaven so I literally hurried and went to urgent care and I got the vaccine.. I only got one dose and I went back and did the titer and it came back positive ! I did it a month from my first titer and Brookhaven accepted it ! Also for the college Algebra like she said, I suggest taking it because you get points for it for the support courses I believe! I took both ! Most of the schools ask for one or the other, may help to take both to give you more options for schools
OMG! I'm sorry to hear that. That has to suck. Wow they only accept the hesi done at MVC, I wonder why? I will definitely ask about the Math class. Does all the prerequisites and support courses have to be done before you apply or can they be completed before the nursing program starts? Is just so much to do in little time. Do you know the deadlines for the spring and fall semester for MVC. Thankxs again. Yikes I have been through that waiting feeling as well. It feels like a long time!!!!! Try to distract yourself or the wait will make you anxious!

Mostly the support courses are to help you get higher points so i would suggest taking some of them. Most importantly have the pre-reqs all done by the time of application. Dates are not up yet, not sure but keep checking the website.

Nooo don't be nervous you should be fine lol. It's just that she is the only one going through the apps and it takes time for her to calculate everyone and rank them
