Hey everyone!
I just wanted to create a thread for the ones who are applying for the Fall 2021 Nursing Program at Mountain View College! I just completed my HESI A2 exam scoring a 87%. My prerequisite total GPA is about a 3.0. I have also taken Microbiology, AP2, and Pharm already so I'm currently at 19 points. I just wanted us to be able to discuss the process together as they did for the previous semesters.
Let's chit chat!

Hi! Nice to meet you I’m Jen! Thank you so much for making this thread! I’ll be applying as well but I’m just a little confused about the whole application process so hopefully we can help each other out! And I hope other applicants can join this thread as well.
I finished all my prerequisites and support classes except Microbiology. Currently I have 18 points, but I’m hoping that when I take my HESI exam, then it can add a point or two. In your opinion, was the HESI exam difficult and how long did you study for it? I also do not currently have medical insurance, I was trying to see if anyone knows of any affordable health insurance for students?
Excited for this new upcoming journey for all of us! Take care!
Hey Jen! It's very nice to meet you. I took the HESI this past weekend and I feel like I was overly worried about it because it wasn't that difficult. I originally started studying for it last October but I really hit it hard for like two weeks before I took the test. But honestly, the math, grammar, reading and vocab is pretty easy if you get the basics. I would just focus on the Anatomy and really know the details of the systems and how they work. I used Youtube videos and quizlets to help me. You got this! Just don't over think like I did LOL
I also don't have insurance either. I'm on a hunt to find some now that's not too expensive.

Hi everyone! I am also applying to Mountain Views ADN program. I haven't sat down and calculated my points yet but will update you guys when I do!
Hi everyone!
I went and calculated my points and I have 25. I made a 87% over all on my HESI and my prerequisite GPA is a 3.7. I have also completed all of my support courses.
That’s great!! Your GPA is really good ! Did you make an A in A&P 1?

Thank you!
No, I did A&P 1 and 2 in the flex term ( 3 weeks each) and made a B in both.
@AlishiaRNThanks for the tip regarding the HESI! I'm really nervous about taking it, but I hope all goes well. I'll definitely look into those resources you mentioned, as I'm only using a HESI review book at the moment. Do you know if we can only take it once and have to wait a certain period of time? Or are we allowed to take it once a month?
@melanierleal20 Wow, you have a lot of points and a great GPA! That's great!
Also have you both taken any of your vaccinations/titers and/or receive your CPR yet?

I went Monday to my doctor to get my blood drawn to test if I'm positive. I should know tomorrow the results. Just hope I don't have to retake the shots LOL
I have my CPR but that's because in 2019 I was in Concorde Grand Prairies LVN program and had to get it.
I am so nervous trying to get everything ready for my application. February will be here before we know it
Also, I've taken my HESI through El Centro and there was no wait period. Can take it as many times as you want
I'm so nervous as well! I have a lot to do, and get everything together before the due date comes. It's my first time applying so I hope everything goes well. And tysm for the info! ? wishing us the best of luck!
Of course! We have to be there for each other!
I have my CPR, I renewed it last year because I work in the ER. But I need to get my shot records and apply for health insurance. My sister went to TWU and she said that they didn’t need to have health insurance. I wonder why it’s mandatory with Mountain View ?.
