Mount St. Mary ABSN Fall 2019

Published

Hi I wanted to start this topic/group for everyone applying to Mount St. Mary's ABSN Fall 2019. Since applications are due 3/1/2019 I thought it'd be helpful to start this application journey now!

I have science courses that are still in progress till end of July which is worrying me but still worth a try! Anyone has in progress courses? How far are you in your application?

Anyone try and register to JCB insurance portal to waive their health insurance? Mine will not let me register because it doesn't recognize my student ID. ?

Hi Shay, I called the office and the health insurance waiver can't be completed until after we register for classes after 7/1.

Does anyone wanna try to find a place to live together?? ?

Hi Natasha! I'm actually looking to relocate closer to campus during the program. Maybe we can exchange phone numbers or social media and look into finding a place. ?

Sure! Can you send me a message and I’ll give you my info?

Hi Guys!

Congrats on getting into the program! I'm in the August 2018 cohort and if anyone is interested in some of the textbooks, I have a bunch that I'm willing to sell:

Capriotti /Frizell - Pathophysiology (2016)

NANDA book - 10th ed

Lewis/Dirksen - Med Surg book 9th ed

Mosby's - drug reference - 2016

Phillips - Manual of IV therapeutics - 6th ed

Mosby's - Diagnostic & Lab Test reference - 11th ed

*Full Disclosure: Not sure if you'll need all of these but it's what I have...*

And I was reading through the thread and when it comes to the financial aid, I would recommend calling the Financial Aid office and asking for a phone appt. The person I talked to was super helpful over the phone and I was able to get all the info I needed.

And don't stress too much about the JCB waiver bc you don't need to get it done prior to the start of your program. What's coming down the pipeline are all the physical exam, CBC, urinalysis, drug screen, background screening etc that you'll need to get done within a VERY short amount of time. The school will provide you with details so it's just a waiting game for now.

I also have 3 clinical uniforms (female, Small in tops and Small in bottoms) but obviously I won't be able to sell them until after I'm done which will be around the week of August 19th.

Does anyone know when we should expect to get an email to start registering for classes??

You should follow the instructions on the welcome packet, it gives you detailed information about registering for classes and which classes you need to sign up for. you should be able to start registering today.

Not sure you if had the same problem, but when I tried to register it kept saying that my search criteria didn't have any classes available. I had to click out of search/register classes and go to search only first. The list of classes came up and I had to go back in search/register for classes. The list then popped up with the classes for ABSN. Hope that helps!

Hello!

Thank you for sharing this. Is it possible we can exchange information? I am interested in your textbooks ?

Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if anyone is from NorCal and is looking for a place to rent near school?

Is there anything I should be doing for the background check? It's confusing as it says Payment status: Paid; but processing pending due to payment. Anyone else having that issue?

I can’t remember if mine said the processing part but I remember it saying paid and not really much other info. Then a few days later I got a text that said my background check was completed and when I checked complio it said I was cleared
