Mount St. Mary ABSN Fall 2019

Published

Hi I wanted to start this topic/group for everyone applying to Mount St. Mary's ABSN Fall 2019. Since applications are due 3/1/2019 I thought it'd be helpful to start this application journey now!

I have science courses that are still in progress till end of July which is worrying me but still worth a try! Anyone has in progress courses? How far are you in your application?

I don't mean to be rude, however there may be another place you can take these comments as there are any people on this page that are very excited for this program, myself included. I don't think it is fair for you to bring this negativity to others. Yes it is a fast paced, heavy loaded program, but people should have known that going in to it.

I have a cousin who went through the same program and had a completely different experience. Printing papers is just printing papers, and clinical placements are hard to come by, so who cares if its far away. A one year program is intense, thus the ACCELERATED part of it. Friends and family will be around after a year, and if not then they're not real friends. I'm looking forward to making life-long nursing friends during this program. All of it is temporary for a lifetime of stability. Its not an easy program, but nothing is.

I have a friend who completed this program as well. Neither she or any of her friends from this program experienced this. I’m very sorry you had such a difficult time, but I am glad you finished.I hope your career is satisfying enough that it was worth it for you.

If you guys haven't received information about financial aid yet, call the campus. I just called and had someone give my student id to a loan counselor because they had not yet awarded me and should have more information by the end of the week.

Thank you for the reminder. I was told I had to fill out an Independent Verification Worksheet before scheduling an appointment with Rita, so I plan on handing it in this Friday.

Thanks! I called and they said it take 3-5 business days before they receive the FAFSA information from the time you submit it before they can review it.

My FAFSA has been under review for a little while now, so I was getting worried.

OMG I GOT IN!!! I can't wait to meet you all! For those accepted, who will take the math remediation?

Yay I got in too!!!! What is everyone doing for housing? I'm moving from San Diego :)

? Awesome ! I haven't heard anything about remediation. K-town is a pretty cool area. I think there are some inexpensive apartments there.

I received an email about remediation a few days ago. I’m going for the first meeting this Friday morning.

I wish I had just gotten 100% the first time ?

Also, has anyone received their ‘financial aid package’ or made any progress financial aid wise????

Not me! I haven’t gotten that email yet. Do we retake the exam or go through a class?
