Hi All,
I have applied to the Mount St Joseph MAGELIN Fall 2019 cohort. I finished my application and attachments at the beginning of the month. Last week I believe was Spring Break so not sure if any reviews were done. After finding some posts on here I see that some people were granted interviews just two weeks after completing their application.
Anyone else apply yet or hear back?
I still have Microbio and Patho to take but have over a 3.5 GPA in their prereqs with about 10 years of business experience in my current field. Really hoping to get in.
Good luck everyone!

Hi! Im starting the MAGELIN program at MSJ in May! I started the process about a year in advance before I wanted to start so my timeline may be different than yours. I applied on 5/30/18, received an email on 6/8 to schedule my interview. I interviewed on 7/31 and received my acceptance letter via email on 8/9/2018. I’m waiting to receive info about orientation and what supplies we need. Hopefully that comes soon because I am a planner and preparer! I was told by the nurses department assistant that orientation would probably the be the Thursday before classes start. I’m pretty excited but super nervous since I’ve been told it is an intense program
Thanks for the info maggie16. I was actually contacted last week for an interview for later this month and I am stoked!! The post interview timelines are good to hear. Sounds like a quick yes/no.
Did you do an in person or skype interview with Dr. H? What was that like? Any tips to help me prepare?
Do you live in the area? What is housing like out there?
Awesome! My undergrad GPA was pretty bad but my prerequisite GPA was great. I don’t think you’ll have an issue as long as you have good grades in the prereqs.
My interview was with Dr. Glankler which was the prior director. She was transitioning back into more of a teaching roll around the time of my interview. I felt great after the interview. I had a pretty good idea that I got in just from our conversation at the end of the interview.
Most of my interview was going over the program. She did ask me a few questions like why do you want to be in this program. One question was “who is your role model and why” which I blanked. I couldn’t think of one person! HAHA! I still got in ?
I’m not really familiar with that area. I live about 30-40 minutes away and never have really ventured that way.
Have you been to to an information session yet?

I have not been. I am out of state. I havent seen any information sessions come up. I attended the UC one via the Web back in January but nothing for MSJ. I am totally leaning towards MSJ and offered to come onsite for my interview but still going to be through Skype.
I think I am relatively rounded with my interview skills for the work place which should hopefully transition into nailing it for the program. I know the 'why' behind my 'what' as well as my role model ?
Congrats to you on getting in and I hope you crush it through the program! Thank you for the info ?
