I am starting the Mount Carmel SDAP program in January 2014. I'm just wondering if anyone has been through the program and has any tips on uniforms, what the schedule and hours are like, or anything else that might be helpful! I am also looking for an affordable, decent place to live, but I need to find somewhere in the Grove City/Rathmell Rd./South Bloomfield/Ashville areas. Any helpful tips would be great!! Thanks! :-)

Congrats! I am very interested in the Mt Carmel SDAP. May I know your GPA and how long did it take you to finish all the pre requisites? Thanks!

I completed most prereqs with my prior degree (biological sciences). My GPA was 3.3

I'm in the program now, and I live on stringtown road. It's only 10 mins from school and 25 mins away from the furthest clinical site

I start in January also!!! :) so excited
What do you think of the program? Do those who graduate from SDAP have the equal opportunity of getting a job as BSN?
I am seriously thinking about applying for MCCN. But I am abroad right now. I would really love to hear what you think about SDAP MCCN. Is it worth the money? Is there a long wait list. As I know I wont get those answers from the admission people, Id like to hear what you say. Or maybe we could exchange email address Mine is [email protected]

I graduated from the SDAP class 6. Buy one uniform top and buy a couple of white pants from garden ridge. I survived with one top and 4 bottoms. Garden ridge = cheap. White is hard to clean when your bottoms track everything. That is if your uniforms are still all white. I gave my top to a roommate. Most of the time, SDAP grads are so eagar to be done they just give away stuff, like books and uniform tops. So hopefully that is an option for you. For books, use OHIO LINK. BUT buy Jarvis assessment and nursing care plans (these books you can always utilize). Every other link I suggest OHIOLINK. Saved me big $$. I only brought the peds book, Jarvis and care plan. I knew I wanted to be a peds nurse and so I am. Hilliard is pretty decent. That is where I resided, plus it is close to all the major stores. Depending on your pre reqs, Mon-Fri during the first 2 months is 8 to 5 depending on your pre reqs. Then it picks up, thursdays and fridays I had my clinical days from 7-5. Best of luck from SDAPee 6!
Don't worry...when you graduate you will get a job. All my class but for 2 have jobs. Those 2 didn't take boards yet. I had an offer the day before I graduated, took the Nclex 2 weeks after (I reccommend Mark Klimek), and boom started the 1st of the following month. Send in your app to Ohio board 2-3 months early. They are slow to process. I had my manager call the board to expediate my app so I could get my ATT and start working to pay back the big bucks to MCCN haha. Oh yeah, apply to scholarships... A lot of us got mola from it.
I am graduating this February from SDAP
