anyone attend now or graduate from mac? i want to hear about your experiences and what you're doing now. i'm going into my second semester and just want to hear from anyone going there.

Specializes in long-term-care, LTAC, PCU.

I am a nursing student entering my second year at Conemaugh school of nursing. A lot of our classmates have left our program to go to "the Mount" because the rumor is that it's easier and more laid back. That's all I know about that program. How are you liking it?

i've never heard of an "easy"nursing program but i will say that admission into the program is pretty simple. you take the teas, score appropriately and since there isn't a wait list you're pretty much a shoe in. the program isn't for everyone of course, nearly half my clinical group didn't make it to level 2. i've learned how to manage my time and perfect my study habits.i did apply to conemaugh and was invited to interview but i was accepted to mac first and since it is close to my home i chose to attend their program instead. the school has a good reputation and they have excellent technology to help us with clinical skills and in the end i will graduate with a degree in nursing.

i have heard of some competitiveness between conemaugh and mac students and i don't really understand it. maybe because alot of mac graduates go on to work at conemaugh and everyone wants to think that they are smarter than the next nurse. regardless of what conemaugh students think of mount aloysius i do plan on working at conemaugh and then moving on to bigger and better things outside of cambria county.
