I have an entire CD that I made for myself that has nothing but motivational music on it...it's my personal collection, and I always pop it in when I am having a really bad day and it's amazing on how it lifts your spirits.
There is one song, where the lyrics go like this....
I'm looking through the window, of my mind
Spirits of my soul, I have left behind.
I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul acending
I'm on my way, can't stop me now...and you can do the same.
The Chorus:
What have you done today, to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to shine
What have you done today, to make you feel proud?
You can meet so many people
If you make that grasp for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's actually a techno song (sounds gospel doesn't it?) with a very strong female lead, but it's the most inspirational song I have ever listened to.
This is the song that keeps me going especially during our review for the local boards exam (Philippine Nurse Licensure June 2005) "Lead Me Lord" by Gray Valenciano. Mariah Carey's " Through the Rain" is also a favorite of mine. Another is a tagalog song entitled "Pagsubok" it means trials, the version of Kitchie Nadal is the best version. The song basically is about facing trials head-on and not giving up. Hope you like it.
Daniel & Natasha Bedingfield are bro/sis...FYI
Natasha B. song "Unwritten"...that is a good song-my daughters class used it for their graduation this past spring.
I like one out by Fort Minor-it goes something like:
15% luck
20% skill
30% Concentrated power of will
!5% pleasure
20 % pain
and 100% reason to remember the name
I like to listen to that before I go in for a test...and think about all of those naysayers who don't think I can be a nurse.
A slow song I like for those "blah" days is Bring on the Rain by JoDee Messina....it helps me to shake the negativity and look ahead.
Last but not least, Enter Sandman by Metallica-great pump up song for me...my college team (virginia tech) uses it as their entrance music, so it really gets my blood pumping!

OK....speaking of motivation. I just brought my daughter home from a birthday party..she is so wore out and very very snuggly and lovey and kissy and she keeps sitting beside of me and putting her arm around me and laying her head on my arm...knowing I am going through all of this for her and I to have a better life...that is one heck of a motivator especially times like this :)

:monkeydance: Okay I am one of those people who uses music to pump me up and get me motivated. :monkeydance: I found a song and I am not sure this is the right title but she says over and over "I gotta get through this!" I think it is by Danielle Beddingfield? So.. I was going to burn a CD to listen to on the way to school to wake me up and get some determination flowing and I was wondering what songs does everyone else listen to to get pumped up and inspired?
I have a big test on Monday and I wanted to get it made so I can listen to it on the way to the test. It also keeps my stress down b/c if not I will work myself in a tizzy before I get there.
