what are some of the most ridiculous things that patients or family members or even coworkers have said to you? we had one patient complain because i bent their straw down too far. same patient also complained because we let them fall asleep and they had a "nightmare"[color=#333233] :uhoh3:

and this is more of a annoyance, but i had a patient with a bp that was going down the toilet but surprisingly this patient was still conscious and talking to me - said they felt fine! i was busy talking to the doc and getting orders and taking care of this situation when a family member of a patient i discharged earlier that night calls me at 0300 asking me, "my mom feels nauseous, is it okay if i give her her nausea medicine?" :banghead:

A friend of mine isn't allergic to epinephrine, per se, but she's allergic to the preservatives used in the vials. While in an emergency epi should be used, she'll get a reaction from it. She's one of those lucky people that are allergic to many things.

Someone might be able to enlighten me here- I have a reaction to epinephrine- or adrenaline and am wondering if it is the preservative or something else in it, apparently 2% of the population have this reaction, it's a bit like having a conscious fit! Unstoppable violent shaking, happened once in my poor dentists' surgery and once in hospital before having anti-venom for a spider bite. Was pretty fun watching the cardiac monitor when they gave it to me... but it HURTS.

The same thing happens to me at the dentist unless I only need a small amount of local. It's truly horrible! I've always thought it was from the adrenaline rather than anything else in the solution.
