Moorpark College Fall 2023

Published

Hi everyone!! I haven't noticed a thread for Moorpark College's nursing program for Fall 2023 yet. I'm submitting my application tomorrow. My stats aren't the greatest but I'm hoping for at least an alternate offer ??

I don't know what's competitive for them, but I'm afraid of my points too because of other threads on here from past cohorts. I'm trying not to compare, but it seems like you need over 70 points to get in ?

I thought my stats were "okay" until I counted my points ?

I have an AA

CNA Experience

76 TEAS

3.3 Science GPA

3.4 Overall GPA

I'm only at 66.5 points ? wbu?

The only thing giving me hope is I've had 2 coworkers get in with less points than me.

I have an A.S. in Biol

EMT experience

83.3 TEAS score

2.7 Science GPA, Micro killed me LOL

3.0 overall GPA

I think I'm only at around 62.5 points ? So I knew my chances weren't super great to begin with

Not sure if you applied to Ventura as well but I spoke with one of their counselors yesterday and told her I was at 65 points and she said I'm like right there. So that gives me a little hope. She also said that it was a bit more crazy these past couple cohorts because of COVID they were only able to take like half of the normal amount of students so it was more competitive. Not sure if it's the same for Moorpark but I would assume so.

That is a really great TEAS score! I think they look at everything so don't lose hope completely! ??

Unfortunately I couldn't apply there since I do not have my CNA and they require that to be eligible to apply at Ventura. I applied to CSUCI and LA Pierce. I was denied at CSUCI but still waiting on LA Pierce

Aww man. Well Pierce is a complete lottery so fingers crossed! ?? I also applied to Pierce, I couldn't apply to CSUCI though because I need to take one more chemistry class. This waiting game sucks ?

It does I feel like I'm going insane just waiting on moorpark LOL

I just got my call that I'm in today! For reference I have 80 pts!

Whooo hooo!! Congratulations! So they really must be behind this year. I haven't heard anything yet I'm praying for at least an alternate position! I'm at 66.5 points ?

Congrats!! I wonder if they finished making all the calls already ? good luck in nursing school that's so exciting ?

If you don't mind me asking what do you stats look like ?  I would like to know how I can improve my applications in the future just in case!

I had about an 81% on my TEAS (I got max points because all my sub scores were 85)

3.9 Overall GPA

3.66 Science (B in micro)

CNA, I work as a CNA so I had hours

I got 2.5 pts on the Need To Work section for working at least part-time during my prerequisites.

She told me they were barely making calls so I'm assuming that means there are more to be made!
