You are right, OR nurses are somewhat of a dying breed... under normal circumstances, a 4 month job on a resume is usually a negative...
HOWEVER, and feel free to get others insight to this- I think you SHOULD list it. Why? Because the OR is so so different than ANY other specialty, even those 4 months demonstrate that you are * at least* familiar with this very very different environment, as opposed to a nurse who's never stepped foot in an OR, and it is so intimidating, They literally run and never return!!! That's why I view it as a positive. You will, of course have to add why it " wasn't a good fit"-- easy, you say that they were so understaffed that you felt, at times unsafe, needed more guidance, the preceptors were relatively inexperienced, etc etc... I'm sure you know where I'm going...
so it's my opinion, that, the lil ole 4 months actually can be viewed as a positive, considering it's in the OR Good luck !!!

I recently got terminated because of bad evaluations from a preceptor who has been mean to me. I have heard that OR nursing is very short and easy to find a job. Will I be able to find another OR job with 4 months of training? How can I explain why I was let go?
I can do both circulating and scrubbing.
I do not have any other nursing experience.
