Definitely research the market. The last two hospitals I worked at laid off all LVNs with two weeks notice. I've also known a few LVN graduates working long term as unit clerks and telemetry monitors because they were unable to find nursing jobs.
The market is fairly saturated, and RNs are taking jobs that might have traditionally gone to LVNs.
The career colleges that you speak of exist, in fact, to make money. You won't find one that values anything else more than money. Proceed with caution. Lots of caution.

Can anyone recommend a good, acredited nursing school in the OC where education is primary over money making? This is for the LVN program
I'm specifically looking for a career college to learn and go on. I've been a medical assistant for 20 years.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
