Montgomery College Nursing Fall 2020

Hello everyone ?!! I decided to create this thread for anyone applying to Montgomery College Fall 2020 nursing program. Did you guys finish all your priority courses? Are you guys still getting prepare to take the TEAS? Did you guys already take TEAS? Have you guys already submitted your application? By the way, the deadline is April 1st. Come and share your progress and let's support each other through this entire journey. Hope to hear from you all!!

Hey I just came across this forum! I am applying to Fall 2020 also. For those who have attended a previous institution, are you mailing copies of your official transcripts with your health science program application? Or did you request your old institutions to mail your transcript to MC?

Hello zbarrie!!

I just realized on Saturday that we need to send a copy of our transcripts with our application. I tried to get in contact with my previous school, but they are closed due to COVID- 19. I sent my transcript to MC last year for evaluation, so what I did was I went into my previous school student portal, and I printed an unofficial transcript and once I get my TEAS score. I am planning to send that along with my transcript evaluation letter that I received from MC. You should try doing the same and if you don't have an official letter from MC write a note on a separate piece of paper, explaining your situation.

Thanks Tatiana! I’m glad I made sure to reread the application and see it should be attached. I will take your advice and just print unofficial copies and attach a letter stating my previous institution campus is closed so I couldn’t retrieve a physical official copy.

@zbarrie HI! I sent my application with my unofficial transcripts, and requested my previous school send my official separately. They need to evaluate that your courses transfer, and I believe they need official copies to do that. I would e-mail enrollment to confirm that. I e-mailed the Nursing Department to confirm my full application was accepted and complete and they told me to call enrollment. Enrollment is who looks at our applications and ranks us before sending them over to the Nursing Department for final decisions. I was told The Nursing Department doesn't even touch our applications until after the deadline.

When you guys submitted your application. Did you submit the entire 10 pages packet or just the pages that require your information and signature?

Thanks for this info! I requested my old schools to mail my official copies as well so I hope sending my unofficial transcripts with my application will do for now.

I plan on mailing mine today and I was wondering if I should include the entire 10 page packet. I think I will just mail the entire packet.

Hey so I emailed enrollment services and the lady told me that we can send unofficial copies with our application, however they need official copies for transfer credit evaluation. So the lack of official transcripts will affect the review of our nursing application. ?

Hi Everyone!
I finally created an account just to join this forum. So, Question! Why are you applying to MC for an ADN and not a BSN program at a University?

let me start with myself. I did horrible in my chem class in college(I have a BSc.) so I don’t even have a chance at getting into the 4 year schools. Also, some required me to take a few additional classes and I couldn’t afford to keep taking classes to apply to a program that doesnt guarantee my acceptance. Also MC is closer to me.

Hi @Queen B!

I chose to apply to MC's ADN program with the intention of enrolling in their co-enrollment program with UMD. I plan to work on both degrees at the same time. I'll have all of the "foundation" classes done after this Summer, so in the fall, I'll only have Nursing courses to take for both programs! I'm so relieved because even though those courses aren't "hard", it will free up so much time for me during the actual program. I've already been accepted to Hagerstown's ADN program, and I'm waiting to hear back from NVCC (they have a similar program with Mason) and MC (also with UMD) later this month. Fingers crossed! I'm really unsure how competitive my application is so I'm really dreading the next couple of weeks waiting!
