Stars I hope the rest of the day was quiet, given that she was only away briefly

Tweety glad it was a decent day despite having to send someone to surgery

Dianah thanks for sharing the recipe

Got the cooking done before church, a Cajun shrimp recipe that seems to have turned out good despite accidentally doubling the spice involved.  Relatively few people in church for some reason, was busy as was both usher and reader.

Rest of the day was pretty quiet.  Did call someone I had been chatting with on a dating app, seems like a decent guy and conversation was OK but not a lot of interest there.  Will text again after Thanksgiving to see about meeting sometime next week, but I get the impression this guy will probably be at most a friend

Today hopefully will be quiet at work despite having someone on our team off for the next 3 days.

Going to be a bit warm, in the low 50s, at least for the next day or two

Good morning!

That looks good Dianah.

Just dropped Waffles off for her dental cleaning.  That's all covered by her plan but I'm afraid she has periodontal disease that will require extractions, if not total.  Wouldn't be the end of the world.  Dogs apparently do well toothless.  She's 14 already.

Am tired and might take a nap.  Bowling is tonight.

Woke up at 8 AM and thought I should probably get up and do something, but I didn't convince myself, and went back to sleep. Woke up again at 11:11 AM from Momo barking and running around on me and the bed, so I did get up, because I thought she was barking because Nannie was up. But, I was delighted to see the recliner was empty, giving me a little quiet time to sip coffee and wake up some more. So, here I am!

I do have errands to run, primarily the bank, for some ca$h. Need to gas up the car, too. May run out to the dealership as the low-tire light  is on again. Wish I had the $ to buy 4 new tires, but, but, but ! Maybe it's just the sensor for the light? That may be pricey to take care of, too, but, ah, well, we'll see. And I'd like to send out my hearing aids to be recalibrated and cleaned, but that will cost just a little less than the tires, for some reason.

As we all know.......It's ALWAYS something!

If I go out to the dealership, I also want to stop at the HFS (for dried ginger candy) and a pet store (for the "BE GOOD" salmon dog treats) beside it. Have a few odds and ends to pick up elsewhere (bath mat for the shower; copy the house keys, and pick up some cheap gift-wrap for X-mas presents. We threw away all of Nannie's excess Christmas collection of paper and ribbons)....at WalMart or Harris-Teeter, and/or Food Lion and one of the dollar stores......but there is nothing urgent. They are all out on the road to/from the dealership, so I won't be going out of my way. BUT...I will probably have to drag Nannie along, also, since there is nobody to sit with her today. (bummer!)

It's supposed to be 70 and sunny today. (I'd enjoy being 'sunny' today....)

Anyway, that's it for now. Hope everyone's Monday is a good'n.

Hello all!

Joe, at least you may have a new friend.

Tweety, enjoy bowling!  Waffles can still enjoy his life with you, -- wow, 14 years!  Please give them both pats and strokes from me!

No Stars, good you got to savor your morning coffee in peace.  Yes, it is indeed, "always something!"  I hope you are able to get errands done today.  Is Nannie better (more cooperative, less antagonistic) since being treated for the UTI?

Today I need to bake the cookies and submit them to dh for taste-testing.  It's a spice cookie recipe, with pumpkin dip.  I have posted it here before, I think.  It's one of our keepers!  I also need to drop off a payment to the dentist (a whopping $11!).

I have been enjoying a friend's postings on FB, she and her husband (who went to Iceland last year, before the eruptions began) have visited Kathmandu, Nepal, and have just flown to Delhi to play tourists there!  Such adventurers!  I love seeing all the photos and reading her narratives (much like I enjoy any of y'all's postings when you travel)!

Have a good day/evening!

Didn't drive all the way out to the dealership; too much traffic and we would've been driving directly into the sun. Just went to the bank, post office and Harris-Teeter. All the way home I kept reminding Nannie that we are out, and where we've been, and then when we got home, I told her again. I just didn't think I could bear hearing (again and again) that she wants to go out. I kept saying, "Remember Nannie...." and mentioned stopping for the iced tea at a drive-thru, and mentioned that she kept remarking about how many cars there were on the road. It worked for a little while after we got back, so when BiL dropped by and I told him what we did and where we went, Nannie would say "That's right," and "We did," and "Yes," in a good mood. Then as BiL and I chatted, she listened, but naturally, somehow, although it wasn't the least bit related to what we were saying, she kept bringing everything in the conversation right back to having to do with her clothes, her jersey, and of course, her SHOES!

Tomorrow is her last day of the antibiotics. // Chatty CG will be coming on Friday this week, which is good news to me!  //  Still not sure if we will being going over to SiL and BiL's for Thanksgiving, because her granddaughter is going to be picked up by her daddy to go over to his house for Thanksgiving. (he and my niece are divorced and share custody.) Anyway, I don't really feel like going over there for supper or a late lunch, 'cause now I hate to drive after dark, especially home from their place which is on a twisty, narrow and winding 2 lane road where the regulars who live out there zip so fast on that road. THEY know it, but I am still getting used to it! Anyway, I don't much care about Thanksgiving dinner over there ....or anywhere, for that matter. So, again, we'll see what we see when we see it, because it's going to be raining heavily on Thursday, like a full tub being upended overhead.

90 minutes 'til Nannie's bedtime!! 😉
