Hi Tweety

Ado hopefully you won't get called into the ER again

Stars glad they got that fixed

NJ22 glad the trip was good despite the irritability

Woke up in the middle of a dream this morning, always leave me groggy for a while....

Yesterday was pretty calm.  Had church in the morning.  Came home and did cooking for the week.  Then had lunch with dad.  Rest of the day was pretty quiet, just exercised and relaxed

Today have laundry as usual, after work I have the 2nd shingles vaccine scheduled.  Hopefully won't have too strong a reaction.  Hopefully work will be calmer as well

Going to be a little cooler, in the upper 80s.  Might get some rain

Good morning!

Ado, hope you get paid for being called in like that and it's not an expectation in your salary.

J22, welcome back.  Sorry people were so grumpy.

I woke up at 3AM wide awake.  I mean very wide awake and hot.  Turn the air conditioner on and took a sleeping pill.  Yes, took a sleeping pill at 3AM, read for an hour, fed the dog and we slept 4 good hours after that.  Still somewhat groggy.

Nothing much going on.

I woke up at 6:30 AM, unlocked the doors, had my meds and 1/2 cup of coffee, and went back to sleep. Got up at 11:15 AM, made another cup of coffee, and surprisingly had only small pains in my lower back. Put a heated wrap on it, and climbed back into bed. Looked at stuff on-line for a lot longer than I usually ever do; got very interested in videos about a wild-life Photographer who rescued a half-dead male lion in the African desert, and then one about a wild-life conservationist who was brought a baby lion by its mother, and who got it well enough to be released back to its mom, and another story about a wild-life photographer rescuing a baby lion from drowning in a river, and how the whole pride, including the male, bumped him with their foreheads, like cats do, pretty much thanking him. It was all so unusual and fascinating.

But then I realized I really wanted to take a shower. I also 'tweaked' the haircut SiL did the other day, and I made a few of her glitches 'neater'. I didn't do a bad job at all, but it was only touch-ups, because I think SiL is so used to thin, gray, permed-curly hair like she does in the nursing home where she cuts hair.....she just doesn't understand my hair. She has to cut it wet, but my hair doesn't come out right if that is done. The woman who used to cut my hair and hubby's hair, had her initial training as a barber, and for some reason did a much better job with my hair-cuts. Plus she listened and understood what I told her about my hair's "preferences" and how it behaves. Tee-hee-hee! I know that sounds nuts, but I've had this hair going on 76 years (in 22 or 23 days) and after I got in my 20's, I started cutting my own hair myself. That was when I wanted a 'shape-up' to a short hair-do I had at the time...... and the person cut it so short, that later ,a waitress called me "sir". Made me MAD!  I wore a toboggan-hat for a weeks, until it started growing back. I have cut it in lengths from short layers brushed back, to just the ends of it when it was waist-length, so I know my own hair very well! Anyway, I wonder if the next time I see SiL, she notices. The 2nd day after she cut it, it looked like it was combed with an egg-beater, and when she came in the door, she said, "Oh, your hair looks good!" Well, I  almost  SNORTED, but managed to say a simple "Thanks."

///  Enough with the hair anecdotes!   ///

I have to leave in 45 minutes to pick up the Nannie-person from daycare. SiL dropped off two Tupperware --or Rubbermaid---containers in the fridge, I'm assuming it is our suppers. I just finished eating one of my favorite brunch noshes; Wild Planet tuna and pasta salad in a can. GOOD stuff!

SiL adjusts the thermostat (to 74+) when she gives Nannie a shower, and turns off the ceiling fans  (You know how little old ladies think a slight breeze is COLD!) and she also turns on a space-heater in Nannie's bathroom. So, I have turned the AC back to where it usually is set (72), and turned on all the ceiling fans in the house, it is much more pleasant in here now.. Not sure of the what the outside high or feels-like temp is.....just more of the same Summer weather: Hot and Humid with a chance of a t-storm in late aft. or early evening. Last night I parked out from under the carport, so hopefully some of the splashed mud on the car's side, got washed off without much effort on my part when the rain hammered us in the early evening. I'll find out when I go out to the car for my "errand".

Somewhere in this house is some mesh with lavender seeds in it..... I want to lay it out around Momo's grave...... but I have to find the dern thing first! So, anyway-(akneewaiz) I'm stopping here for now.

 🤪 Y'all behave!

I slept like a log this morning. It was so nice to have my coffee on the deck, with the dogs freely going in and out, without me having to leash them up and walk them first. It's been a warm day here, in the high 70s. I picked up my prescriptions and tried to pick up my mail being held at the post office. I forgot I checked the box to have it delivered today, so there was nothing to pick up. I've been weeding, and catching up on emails. I didn't plan for dinner, so I am going to the store soon to pick up fried chicken and ready-made salads.

I used to trim my bangs, when I had them. Otherwise, I leave hair cutting to the professionals. Going to the hairdresser is one of the luxuries I allow myself. Getting a wash, cut and blow out is heaven, to me. And, I have a hairdresser who is not intimidated by my massive quantity of hair.

I got an answer to my complaint to the hospital about my ER visit. My chief complaint was them  doing an alcohol and drug tox screening without telling me, when I directly asked what they were testing for. The answer said it was all standard, but agreed to take those charges off my bill, which is what I asked for. And they would review with staff. I don't see why a person can't be told what they are being tested for.
