Good morning.

I made a post yesterday but evidently didn't hit submit.  Oh well.

My sister texted me late that my dad took mom to the ER because she wasn't eating well and was weak.  She was being treated at home with a kidney infection.  No word yet if she was admitted or if anything is wrong.  I'll call him a few.

Work yesterday was very busy.  Didn't get lunch until almost 3pm.  I worked with the nurse that I just finished orientating and she actually helped me out.  I just don't handle 6:1 ratio well.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Update.  Mom was dehydrated and they gave her IV fluids and she felt well enough to be discharged and is resting at home.

That's weird, I did a post this morning but it didn't show

Tweety, glad she's been discharged

Tweety, I'm glad too, that your mom is feeling better and wasn't admitted. Good to see that your new co-worker is a team player. I just shake my head at 6:1.

Well, sis said yesterday they put a "red fob" on her name band to indicate allergies, so that seems like a positive step. She's have a complete heart cath around noon, possibly a cardioversion, and they are going to turn off one of her pacing leads. She says "the third wire" which doesn't sound right. Hopefully the cardiologist will call me with an update, as I am her primary contact and healthcare POA.

It's raining, so our surprise birthday picnic tonight for grandson may get moved to his favorite Italian restaurant. I forgot to shop for a gift, so I am going to give him money for their upcoming camp trip to the Grand Canyon.

Mid Afternoon: Hubby is out in his 'office', Nannie just finished her lunch, and I am, I guess, "hiding" up in my room.

Lordie, lordie! It is currently 100 degrees outside. A triple-digit UGH! I don't think we're supposed to get any rain, either. Maybe tomorrow, who knows! The newspaper, the laptop, and the TV seldom agree on what's to come.

My sister sent me an email about the Jan 6th hearings; she thought last night's hearing was "great," and wanted to know if I got to watch it. I told her that Hubby is always being obnoxious about politics, politicians, etc, that it was too stressful for me to even TRY to watch something like that, because all I would hear would be squawking from him. I can catch pieces of it on-line, or during the network news (if Nannie and hubby will be quiet enough for me to hear it.), or elsewhere.

Tweety, Glad your mom only had to have an IV to 'top off' her fluid reserves, and didn't have to be admitted. Hubby doesn't want to make an appt for Nannie just now, even w/ her c/o dizziness (which seems to have decreased lately) and the possibility of a UTI making her a bit crazy again.

j22, Hope your sister's procedures all went well. "Third wire"? All I know is that the third RAIL in the subway is the rail that's "live", but that sure doesn't apply to pacemakers.

There was a several hour intermission here, where I was sidetracked away from the laptop-------------------------------

Hubby went out to get supper, but he just called and said one of the places is closed down to supposedly refurbish it; one of the other places we like, now closes at 3 PM because they don't have enough staff; and since it is Monday, one of the other take-out places is closed. It's tough when you decide on what to get from where, and then get bumped around like a BB in an empty boxcar, trying to find someplace OPEN that has food that three people can agree on. Nannie doesn't like Chinese or Mexican food. One of these days we might have to end up cooking something ourselves! EGADS!

Okay, it is essentially a boring day, so I don't have much else to add.

Had a great deal of practice toning down my irritation and aggravation this afternoon during the Braves game! Hubby kept up commentary, play-calling and acting like a p.o.'d coach, trying to run the game how it SHOULD go...if this or that player would do as he thought they should, expressing his opinions  and putting down the players he had no faith in or respect for, and OMG. It was stunning and went on and on throughout the first 2 hrs and 45 min of the game. I looked, I listened, I kept my lip zipped. Finally in the 8th inning, Nannie went to bed, and hubby went upstairs, and ahhhhhh, such peace, so welcome.

Hubby had not been drinking very much today, I don't think, but he was downright wound up. Maybe feeling, after a little frisse between us yesterday, he was going to proclaim his opinions loud and clear. I just let him run down, but it sure took him long enough. I don't actually know that he was doing it  consciously, but I seized the moment to let it all flow right over my shoulder. I believe I did right-well to recognize the opportunity and using it to dissociate myself.

Bottom of the ninth: Braves-9, and Nationals-5, and we just won the 12th game in a row. w00t!

I get to go out tomorrow in the 101 degree heat....wheee.....to get pharmacy refills, plus just a few kitchen items/odds and ends.

Go to bed, Stars! OKAY!

Braves in the bottom of the ninth, score is Braves 9 and I just let him run down, but it sure took long enough!
