Dianah that's a lot of people to fit in one house

Stars hope your hand is better

NJ22 hope you can get the fireplace fixed

Ado hopefully your stomach settles down

Tweety that sounds like a more peaceful Christmas than most peoples'

Yesterday was pretty good.  Went to church and helped usher.  Then came home and did the stir fry for the week.  Sauce was a bit disappointing,  but that seems normal for me when I try to make Chinese food.  Finished watching Don Giovanni and went for a walk

Then went to church for the Christmas party.  Was a good time, the food, which was catered, was better than last year.  And instead of singing Christmas carols we had a local high school choir sing instead.  Although we did sing some Christmas carols with them

Hoping for an ordinary week at work, but who knows, we do have someone off today

Will be a little warmer today, in the upper 30s

Good morning!

Joe, that sounds like a nice evening.  Hope you have a good week.

Got some much needed rain from a "cold front".  It's only 54 outside now which for Florida is really cold to me.  LOL

Not much going on today.   Ordered a food gift basket for my parents from Amazon and an hour later got a notice that it was being shipped.  Guess I can't change my mind.  Also sent my sister an Amazon Gift Certificate via text.  Will get my best friend something, most likely a gift certificate because I can't think of anything.

Have a great day.

Sunny, 51 degrees. Have to go out and do a couple of errands after Nannie slips into her after-breakfast nap. Also on the agenda is doing my laundry. And more importantly: filling my mediset, because once again, I THINK I got up earlier and took my morning pills, but now I'm not sure. I have to get more organized about filling the mediset, and I may have to put a piece of paper beside the mediset, with date/time for checking off the meds WHEN I take them. Documentation, doncha know. I hate not being able to trust my memory!

Time to get Nannie up.

Partly sunny,  temp in the mid 40s. I had to jump/dodge several puddles on my jog today, after the latest atmospheric river went through over the weekend. I am having to wipe down the dogs every time they come in from outside because the backyard is turning into a muddy swamp. dh has Hallmark movies on non-stop today. They are all the same story, so one minute the female lead is blonde, and the next she is brunette. Most of the males seem to be brunette. The town names change, but it all looks like generic small town USA. I thought there was going to be a same-sex Hallmark movie this year, but I haven't seen it go by, yet. I am going to try 2 new cookie recipes today: shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate, and peanut butter brownie swirls.

I read a cool book this week, called "Cheating the Hog", about women working in a sawmill in 1999. There are not nearly as many mills around here as used to be, but I grew up around people who worked them. My father drove a log truck when he was young, and my BiL has logged, but only drives now. Hard, dangerous work, like fishing, which is another big local industry. I'm about to start a book about the Vanderbilts in the golden age.

I'm dragging my feet about calling the fireplace repair folks. I'm afraid I'll get snarky.

Joe, I can commiserate about cooking stir-fry. I inevitably always cook it on too low of heat and yet overcook the veggies. Having a choir to support singing at a party sounds like a great idea.

Tweety, your shopping sounds like mine. I gave some gift certificates last year and 2 of them are still unredeemed. Sigh.

NoStars, would you fill a mediset for me while you are doing yours? I like it when it's done, but I always drop things while I'm doing it.

My aunt's husband was permanently disabled with a head injury when he was a logger in Alabama when we were kids.  He's in his 70's now and seems okay.  He loves to garden, fish and hunt.

I'm pretty good at making Chinese/Asian sauces and food.  We have a good Asian market here.  I splurged and got a bottle of vegan fish sauce that tastes like the real thing for SE Asian dishes.  It was $25 but a little goes a long way.

When I was with my parents there was a lengthy discussion about whether mom took her meds out of the mediset or was it already empty.  I've said before I have one to know if I've taken my trazodone and melatonin at night.  Last night I thought I was taking dissolvable melatonin and it was real bitter and found I'd taken a 2nd dose of Trazodone.  Opps......  It's such a small dose it didn't seem to make a difference.
