Tweety hope the pain finally fades away

Dianah sounds like a fun event

Stars that is annoying that she didn't do the cut right

NJ22 it seems common that family tensions flare up around holidays

Went to the Aboretum yesterday, was quiet but quite cold.  Afterwards came back and made the eggplant parmesan.  Seems to have turned out well, but it was quite a bit more work than I had expected.  Rest of the day was fairly quiet, did some shopping and worked on this week's shopping list.  Decided to be ambitious and do the laundry too

Today will be busy at work, have that new case to finish and a meeting at noon. Will probably cut lunch short to compensate.  Should be a quiet evening apart form exercise

Will be warmer today, up to the low 40s.  Think it will be about the same the whole week

Good morning!

Dianah, that sounds like so much fun.  Hope you had a good time.

Joe, hope the day doesn't prove too crazy.

J22, too bad about the family drama.  Waffles peed on my shoes and I didn't notice until I put them on.  Ugh.

Stars, may you find peace where you can.

My side of the family has drama too but we are the type to sweep it under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist. I am close to my sister but not my parents or brother.   My sister and I talked hours and hours about it over the years and okay to let bygones be bygones and leave it in the trash can.  I called her yesterday and she hasn't called back.  I sent her an Amazon Gift Certificate to her phone and told her to claim it which she hasn't done.  I think my mother is deteriorating and the alarm might be sounding soon but it's also annoying to get ghosted.

Unfortunately the discomfort of post op day one showed no improvement on post op day two.  But I'm still on Tylenol and ibuprofen and hoping for a better post op day three.  I'm going back to work on Thursday and will hoping to be more comfortable by then.  Lifting and tugging on patients will be a no.  With any luck I will be a free charge.  We have plenty of staff that day.

I stayed in yesterday and watched a couple of series I'm streaming and a movie.  I read some of my book.  I slept decently.  Waffles again got a treat of an early breakfast so we could go back to sleep.  I feel good enough to take her to her eye appointment today myself and I expect treatment will be complete.  I took her cone off to sleep with me last night and it's still off as she hasn't gotten up yet.  I think if they tell me to keep her in it, I will have to have some serious convincing.  We both hate it.

52 degrees today, 71 degrees on Wednesday.

Today I am doing banking and bill-paying business, what a thrill. By the time I get through it will be Nannie pick-up time. Then NO daycare until 1/5/26. 😫

Tweety, If it was me, I would take GAS-X maximum strength, and sleep on my left side. Sometimes that helps relieve trapped gas.

Have to get dressed and walk Tinker before I head out. She is giving me an impatient look and a hairy-eyeball.

J22, I hope the mood improves and you have a pleasant holiday. I would love to see Phantom -- that's a great Christmas gift!

A cat (most likely Binx) peed on the dirty clothes I had on the closet floor (I had sorted my laundry into piles on the closet floor and one of us left the closet door open). Hubs is sure I'm to blame.

My family also sweeps the drama under the rug. I always thought we were close but since our parents died we don't see each other much. We do text and sometimes talk on the phone. My sister used to call quite frequently, which I wasn't always thrilled with because she doesn't seem to know how to end a conversation and the calls would last too long. But lately she doesn't do that and I feel bad.

Tweety, I certainly hope you are pain-free by the time you go back to work. Hope you get to be a free charge that day.

Stepson should be arriving in about 3 hours. Hubs is doing some house cleaning. We booked a motel room for him for the next few days ... just no room at the house. Hubs was afraid that yesterday was going to be the day we lost his mom. Gma fell in her room and was "not the same" afterwards for a bit. Her vitals were fine but the only response we got from her was "ow" when the BP cuff tightened up. But, not much later, she was back to her (these days) usual. So I went to sing with the choir yesterday but Hubs stayed home.

I've been trying to sort out my room. Got into a cigar box that had several jewelry-type items belonging to my parents. I'm sure I had seen it all before, but not paid much attention. Many masonic pins of Dad's -- 60-yr, 55-yr, 50-yr, etc. Also a pin that looks military and has a pinkish-red gemstone. My guess is it is a service award or retirement pin from Tinker AFB (maybe 40 years?). Also some hospital volunteer service pins - one for, I think, 1800 hours of  service. As those are from this hospital, I really want to keep those. I will communicate with sister and brother about the other items. Also found my mother's class ring (class of 1950) which I thought my sister had. I used to wear it (as a teen) but it won't fit on my big fingers anymore. My sister has much smaller hands and fingers than I. And an award pin she (Mother) got in high school for Typing.
