Stars glad things have been quiet around there

Quieter day yesterday.  Went to church early to usher.  Then went to an event at a coffee shop with the over 50 group, just 2 of us this time, me and the organizer.  We're planning to do a combined event in the near future.  Then came home and did the cooking and rode my bike

Today should be a fairly ordinary day, work will be busier this week as I have Wed off for an online class for my NC license. Hopefully won't be too bad. Only laundry and exercise planned

Will be a bit warmer today, in the low 80s

Good morning.

The battery died before I could finish the yard.  Not sure why the charge is going so quickly.  But almost done.

I remembered six minutes before a competency that I had signed up for so ran to that and was 7 minutes late.  But got it done.  Then an educator caught me and talked to me about being a "superuser" that checks people off for competencies and that took about an hour.  Ugh.....

Going to meet to best friend and watch a movie at his house.  He's fixing lunch.

Have a great day.

I wanted to sleep longer but looked at the clock and cussed, because it was already noon. So I am up drinking coffee and hoping Nannie will give me another 1/2 hr before she appears. I have errands I could run, but may end up not doing so; none of them are crucial, and I will have to find out what day SiL will come to get Nannie before I can make any appointments.

BLEARGH! Nuthin' more to say right now. Hope everyone's day is a good'n.

So that getting up earlier thing isn't working well Stars?  LOL.

Finally got the grass mowed!  Got my new battery today so hopefully that won't be an issue.  Maybe the batteries lose effectiveness over time but it's annoying because they are not cheap.

Having portabella fajitas for dinner tonight.  Getting hungry.

Hi. I feel like I spent the day going in circles. I drove big sis to her first chemo and radiation, recommended at least for the first time. They gave her IV benedryl, and I think it made her a little woozy. She denied that, but I think the dexamethasone she got sort of skewed her judgement. She was quite talkative, but her speech was slow.

I meant to order blinds today, but the choices were overwhelming, so I brought some sample books home to look at. I bought a new toaster, after going to 3 different stores. And I got the ingredients to make a quinoa salad. I've already told dh the salad is for me, because I don't care to hear for the umpteenth time that he doesn't like quinoa. The fresh broccoli from the garden was quite good, although overcooked. dh's cooking of the ham was about an hour longer than he predicted.

I hope to go to bed earlier than the 11 pm I seem to average lately. But no matter how late I go to bed, I wake up at 530 am.

Tweety~ Yup, nope, if I could make myself go to bed earlier, I could get up earlier, but I CANNOT do that any more! Even sleeping pills don't knock me out! I was a confirmed 3-11 shift worker for 12+ years and could only finally unwind around 2-3 AM. BUT! When I began working the weekend Home Health visits, it required, well..........

Ripley's Believe It or Not:: Yes, There were actually a good number of years when I worked the day shift; I had to get up around 4:30 AM to get ready and to drive to various patient's homes. I started my visits in Home Health around 7 AM and worked over 3-4 counties, which meant a LOT of driving.

And another believe it or not......I HATE working the night shift! You would think those hours might be right for me, but UH-UH!

-----------------------------------------------------------

Just have to add that today Nannie started getting like she was the other day, very pizzy and wanting to argue. every. little. thing! So, I purposely toned down, kept my voice quieter and non-confrontational; answered every question and did not give complex answers. I had to keep reminding myself to stay back emotionally and stay relentlessly 'calm' and it was tough! It still took her about 3 hours to lose her hot-air huffing and puffing and become reasonably human-acting. again. But she doesn't make it easy, because when I answered one question, she'd bite her lips and move her eyes around searching for either her POINT or another subject, then a minute later she would come at me with something else. She REALLY wants to argue like she and hubby used to, but I hated when they did that. I have nothing to prove by being right, so I just stayed still and wouldn't bite the bait when she 'pushed' things.

Now that the control-bars for the blinds are down, she has decided she doesn't like the outside-the-backdoor light, (and somehow she tied it in with something about her shoes and the pants she was wearing, and people coming through the house. Nothing that made ANY sense!) OK, the outside light:  ....it's TOO BIG, And SHE doesn't NEED it! I told her to tell her son about it, because I don't 'do' electricity. 😋

But, WHEW! When is the end of this shift???????? Somebody owes me SCADS of over-time!

Stars, I totally get it.  As is well documented my sleep/wake cycle is all screwed up.  I'm not sure what pattern I'll get into when I retire.  I tend to stay up late, but like J22 don't sleep late.  Last night I was up to about midnight and woke up at 5AM.  Ugh.

3-11 was the shift that my body liked the most, but those shifts are long gone from hospitals and we're mandated to do 12 hour shifts and I just can't do 12 hour nights.  11-7 I could do.
