I was also wondering if or would like to hear some success stories of any singles mother's finishing nursing school. I have a friend who actually had her child go live with her grandparents during the 2 years of nursing school, so she said it was because it was such an intense program. I guess I need a little encouragment on accomplishing it with two children. Those of you who are going to nursing school, are you going to work, and how can you pull that off. What are your plans or how did you do it. I have a house payment, and am not making it working FULL TIME. My mom did say if i can rent the house out we could move in with her for the 2 years. It will be a huge change though, going from having our own house, freedom, and back to moms and sharing a household. Guess I have to sacrifice things to get where I want, 2 years just seems so long

After 2 years of struggle and sacrifices, I've finally made it through Nursing. Nursing school is very intense and in order to keep your family and sanity you have to have lots of patience and determination. During the course of 2 years, both my husband and I were going to school to get our degrees. My husband got his double major in Engineering/Physics while working full time and odd hours (military) and me about to graduate in RN program next week (yeepeee!!!!)...We have 2 kids, ages 3 and 9. It was tough and there were times that we never got to see each other and with the kids yearning for our attention. Of course we would've not done this without the help of our family. My mother came to the rescue (she too had to sacrifice a lot!), she decided to stay with us to care for our kids while we work on our goals. I'm proud to say that all the sacrifices and hard work has paid off and we are off to a new start and we will be able to give our kids the best future yet! I strongly believe that if you are determine and stay focus, no matter how hard nursing is you will make it through with flying colors! Hang in there and keep praying! Oh, one more thing....now that I'm done, I have started to make up all the lost times with my kids (my husband and I)..I'm still preparing for the "big exam" but I try not to get so consumed by it...I still plan on taking the NCLEX-RN the soonest possible time! Good luck to you!
