MN liscensure by exam

I have some questions about my application for boards. I tried calling the state board for help, but not much was provided!

I will be graduating in Dec from a college in WI. We graduate on Dec 13, but our "conferral date" is Jan 23. I am wondering if I have to wait for my conferral date of Jan 23 to receive my GN permit. Also, the permit is only 60 days, so once that expires can apply again?

Another question is .. how long is the typical wait after actual graduation date before you can take your boards?

The hospital that I will be working at didn't have much information to offer me, so I am hoping someone will have some guidance for me!!!!

Hi Emily,

I'm not sure about your first question, I would check with the board of nursing in your state you will be working to answer that.

I can tell you it will be at least 3-4 weeks on average to wait to take your boards from the time you send in your paperwork until you receive your ATT. I believe mine took longer than that so I would expect at least a month if not two.

I hope this helps, and hang in there, graduation is just around the corner!
