Mizzou's Sinclair School of Nursing Accelerated BSN 2010

Published

Has anyone else applied? Does anyone know what the application/interview process is like? Any information at all about the accelerated program would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Congrats!

Nothing yet for me, but I'm thinking I didn't get in. THey called me abut 45 minutes early for the interview and totally messed it up because I was caught off guard. I'm applying to a few other places so it's no big deal.

Glad you got in though :)

Thanks.

To be honest, I was a little worried about how I came off in the interview as well. I was one of the last people to be interviewed and I was worried about being redundant.

Whatever the decision, good luck to you in the future.

Hey, PM me. I went through the regular BSN program and know all the folks there.

Hey jeeperN,

I saw your post that you went through the regular BSN program at Mizzou, I was wondering if you could tell me what the interview is like??? Hope to hear from you soon =)

What type of questions did they ask? I am applying this fall for the program and want to be as prepared as possible.

Things like:

"What made you decide to go into nursing?"

"How would you handle a uncooperative co-worker?"

"What are your weaknesses/strengths?"

"Do you have any experience in healthcare?"

"Why should we grant you admission into the program?"

"Why did you choose the nursing program at Mizzou?"

I was asked about how I was going to handle the program financially, as well. When they asked if I had any questions, I asked them what qualities they looked for in students.

Hope this helps!

I'm currently enrolled here at Mizzou (freshman) and was wondering about their nursing program. Do you think you can give me some information about what you know so far? I have my LPN license in Illinois, I haven't had much time to apply for Missouri's. I hope to get things done by next semester so that I can possibly work.

Honestly, I don't know a lot about how the traditional program runs. I know that it's really competitive, but I can only imagine that already having your LPN license will push you above the rest.

I'd PM JeeperN upthread for more info about the traditional program, but personally, I love MU's nursing program and feel like I've learned a lot in just the few months I've been in the program. Hope this helps.
