Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Hello Everyone, I'm glad to have found this website. I was in a 2 year Associates Degree in Nursing Program, literally traveling across the state of Massachusetts to pursue my Nursing Degree that I have wanted for quite some time now. It is very crushing to have invested the time, energy, cost of fuel, and not to mention the stress on a family while trying to accomplish all this. The school I have been attending however hasn't been that supportive, to both myself and to several other students. And now this had led me to seek out an on-line school to finish my degree. I was thinking about Excelsior College, but was wondering if anyone else has completed their course of instruction and found it successful. I am looking for anyone who can help me with some information, and maybe links to possible study groups, etc. that could help me with this. Thank You for reading, and Happy New Year, Everyone!! Sincerely, PMustang:o

Howdy-

Sorry about your exam - I am a first year student in a 2 yr AD program and have found that on the whole I have recieved much more support outside of school from co-workers and online. Also, have you read How to survive and mabey even love nursing school? Lots of helpful tips for nursing students. I know several RN's who got their BSN online but am not familiar with any of the programs. Hope all goes well in your quest, and the best of luck to you in your future scholastic endeavors.

Sorry to hear. Just remember things happen for a reason for the better even if it doesnt seem so right now. Was it LPN or RN? Im sure something better awaits you. Keep looking up and moving on.

Here is this site's distance education thread if you ever wanted to communicate with other Excelsior-educated nurses and students to see what the benefits and drawbacks are.

Good luck to you! ;)

BTW don't look for support from your schools in the future. As harsh as this may sound, they are not out to support you in any way, shape or form. I've found that classmates and family are better sources of so-called support.
