Hey I'm been working as a nurse for 8 months and finished a 3 month nicu orientation in December. Our ratio is 1-3 babies depending on the amt of staff.
I had ONE baby for a night shift and I still missed one of their antibiotics which is a big I feel so bad. This is the first time I missed a med pass. I'm honestly thinking about changing careers. My colleagues probably think I'm so incompetent and talking about me. The funny not so funny thing is that I checked the med chart 2-3 times and I still missed it. So what does that say about me as nurse. This would get me written up right? Any way that's it for my rant I just needed to vent
Every nurse has made at least one med error in her career. We are human. Meds get missed. Just look at what happened , learn from it and move on.
No one is talking about you.
