Hey everyone! Interview calls out today! Does anyone have any idea of the interview process? EI or clinical?

Was your science GPA also around the 3.4ish? Honestly your stats sound fine. I really hope you can get feedback so you can buff up what you need to!

My science GPA is a 3.36 so yeah. I am going off of St.Mary's calculator. So yeah. The worst it's a mid 3.3 to a mid 3.4 for science.

Actually considering Nursing CAS, my GPA is close to a 3.45-3.5.

I

I am sure some of my co-workers will recognize me here. But I don't mind.

1 year Float Pool Trauma 1, 2 Years Trauma-Neuro-Surgical ICU Trauma 1, Charge RN. I have shadowed for over 26hrs.

GPA 3.4 (Suspected weakness). Although like a 3.5-3.7 average my last two years of nursing school. I did the Barry's Nurse Anesthesia Class and got an A. (All programs accepted this as a pre req for Chem). I am suspecting that I need to take a stronger chemistry course.

I have my CCRN, TNCC, ENPC, TCAR, (working on my TCRN). I volunteer coach highschool sports. I am involved in Critical Care Comittees on my unit.

I was hoping that it was strong enough for an interview as that is where I would need to really sell myself. Unfortunately not the case. I have seen that you have interviews for UofM and MSA so I am very interested in honest feeback from you! Thanks!

Well I will not recognize anyone because I live in another state 🙂

It looks like you have some good experience as well as volunteering and being involved in committees.
I can't say much about the chemistry course.
The chem and lab I have is general chem from that is old from nursing school.
My GPA stands at 3.74. The GPA is only one piece of the application though but could be a make or break against tons of other applicants.
Have you tried reading your personal statement and seeing if that could have been stronger? Or diversity statement for UM?
how about your references?
I think every little tidbit counts.

For the UofM I had two months of drafts reviewed by SRNAs and old classmates that are in NP school. I used APA 12th for both the DEI and the personal statement and placed alot of time into them. I was even awarded a state grant recently with a diversity and nurisng driven reflection 1200/4000 applicants awarded. I feel like I am strong on writing but of course there is something I am doing wrong or need to switch up.

My letters of recommendation are strong from what I feel like. My manager is supportive (from my knowledge of course), I used SRNAs, one is a student at MSA currently and I used an Intensivist/Pulmonologist that was very supportive.

To be honest, I modeled alot of what I wrote from what current SRNAs wrote. So I am thinking I need to hammer that GPA or show I can continue to preform adequately at the post graduate level.

sounds like you had awesome pieces to your applications.
But based on all of this, sounds like you found your answer! I really hope you get some good news from st Mary's!

I didn't get interview at University of MN because I probably didn't have a lot of volunteer experience and I don't belong to any committee. Although my personal statement and science GPA were great. I did receive an interview from MSA and I'm currently taking organic chemistry

Does anyone know what the interview will entail? I have one November 4th and IDK what to prepare!! It's my first ever!

I am also nervous! I have my interview Nov 7th! It's an hour long and I don't know what kind of questions they will ask if it's EI or Clinicals

I do too! That is a long interview.
I have no idea if it is clinical, EI, or both.

They said it's a multi-part process including a formal interview, informal meeting, and Q/A with current students.

Anybody  on the call this morning? Also for those of you who maybe didn't get the interview call this year... they had over 700 applicants and only sent interview requests to 120.  Wow.
