minimum requirements CGFNS

Published

Hi everyone

I'm a RN with BSN from Quebec, Canada. I moved to Colorado in august. I have a visa, social security number and my green card. I did my application with CGFNS back in July 2010. In September they got my transcript from my university and in October my high school diploma. My file is ready for review since October. In November I called CGFNS to know what's going on with that! They said they are waiting for my other high school diploma. I told them that I graduated in only one high school. The guy told me to send a letter to explain it. I did!!! A few weeks later I saw online that they were still waiting for those diploma. I called back! The guy told me that my letter did not name all the school! Finally I solved the problem by phone. A few weeks later I called to ask when my file will be review. Someone told me that they are waiting for my english test. I passed my english test in march. Shortly after ward, they sent me a notification by email that i need some breakdown of my hours. They sent the document by mail to my university and forgot the postal code (zip code) Once again...mistake! I'm getting really frustrated with CGFNS they are not professional at all. I called again and the guy tried to cut me off again...so this time kept talking and he said that I was an hysterical. I made a complain for that and for the time wasted because of their mistakes. I told to the manager that I've got an email from them saying that it will take up to five weeks to review my file after they will get my breakdown. When I called AGAIN the laddie saids that it will take up to 10 weeks. I asked for the manager and he told me to sent this email stating that it will take 5 weeks to review my file. Finally he saids that the email was wrong but they will own the statement in the email. I'm so desperate will this whole process and so scare that I won't meet the minimum hours. My question is: what is the minimum hours and what do you think about my breakdown hours:

Psychology: theory: 45 clinical: 126

Thanks

Depends on the state, each state has their own requirements on what minimum requirements so probably better to ask them

I asked them and they don't want to tell me...

Then all you can do is wait for the BON to assess your CES and application, they are the ones at the end of the day that have the final say so

So if I do not meet the requirement, CGFNS will still send my CES report to the nursing board and it's them who going to decide for the extra hours I need???

CES report is completed by CGFNS they send it to the board of nursing and they make their determination based on what the report states, so yes they are the ones that decide if any hours are required

Hey did you have enough hours to take the nclex? We're your hours accepted? Thanks
