I finally finished my pre-reqs for this program but it doesn't seem to help. I sent my transcript in more than a month ago and they have not yet processed it. I talked to the person in charge of processing transcripts once and she said it'd be done in a few days (this was a while ago) but so far no luck.
It's so frustrating because her voicemail box is full so you can't leave a message and I even sent a paper letter with no response. It seems like after you're done with pre-reqs you'd be all set but this doesn't seem to be the case. The short waiting list at MATC seems to be getting longer for me because they won't process my transcripts!

I have had the same problem with similar situations before, in which it seems nothing is getting done. What has worked for me is to go to the school website, and then the staff contact list or email directory and send the same message to whoever I think might possible be able to help. So for you maybe anybody in admissions, registration, records etc. Hopefully out of the 10 emails you send, one of those people will do something to get the ball rolling.

You also need to take (and pass) the NLN before you can get on the waiting list.
Best of luck!

As I'm sure you are aware at this point there is no waiting list at MATC anymore. They have gone to the petition process. You petition once ALL of your prereqs are done and by ALL, they mean EVERYTHING but clinicals.
What do you mean by petition? Like a points system, and the best win? Is it for MATC-Milwaukee only or MATC-Madison too?
alot of schools are moving to the petition process. most schools have found by doing this route students are more prepared to succeed than the previous way things were done with a waitlist.
some requirements for the petition process for matc rn you have to have a gpa of atleast 2.5 you need a grade of b- or better in ap1, ap2, micro, and biochem and all of your general eds including these science courses must be complete before you can petition(they can not be in progress). they will have information sessions regarding this process in late november, early december. if you'd like to read more information there are some links here.

also petition periods are:

Is anyone currently waiting to hear if they have been accepted into the January, 2009 clinical at MATC?
I'm anxiously waiting!

first try contacting a supervisor by phone...always be sure to get a person's name because then someone is accountable for the information they give you. this usually helps in being sure the information they are giving you is correct. if you are not having luck on the phone...show up in person and ask to speak with the supervisor. be sure to take a list of people you spoke to, the info they gave you and the time and date. i was suppose to be on the waiting list for a year but it ended up only being a semester because they got sick of me bothering them!

Off the subject but does anyone have the tax id number for matc? They wouldn't provide me with a 1098t "because they are not required to" .... thanks will-be-RNs!
I received one and my tuition was only $25 bucks for a cpr class. If you log into Infonline you can print one from there. Otherwise the tax ID is 39-6003459.
Wow! That is weird. I took my class at the West campus, I don't know if that makes any difference or more so why it should but they did not produce one for me. I even called them and they said they are not required to if I am not in a program at their school (I'm in a program at WCTC taking a class there to transfer to my program). I just checked again and no such luck but thank you very much for taking the time to reply!!!!!!!!!
I appreciate it tons!!!!!
