Bryant & Stratton Nursing Program - WI
You can transfer in credits and required basic required classes but I am not certain as to what the outlined rules are on that. For sure they have to have been within five years. I think you should meet with the admissions coordinator. It's informal and if you have existing credits and bring in your transcripts they get back to you pretty fast as to what they will transfer in.

mouth breathing sore throat
haha! Yes, I know there are many reasons WHY I do it and you recognized some of them I may have just been super crabby at the time of post because I was coming down with this outrageous icky cold but I don't have to work tonight and as long as I don't have to talk to anyone today, I'm in a pretty good mood. There are so many perks to being a CNA, especially the residents I work with and when you give them the care and respect they deserve they are genuinely grateful and that makes my day!!!!! Thank you!

mouth breathing sore throat
I don't care how ignorant this sounds but a residents bm smelled so incredibly undescribably bad that I had no choice but to mouth breath and now my throat is sore, its hours later, i'm at home (I've showered scrubbed brushed rinsed) and my throat hurts AND I still feel like I can kind of 'taste' the toxic smell of this guys ****! UGH! Why am I doing this for $11/hr???!!?!!? :barf01:

failing. Lord help me?
Week 3 semester one and I'm flunking out. I'm so depressed and ashamed. I really just get these depressing chucks of hopelessness. I believe He put the dream of becoming a nurse in my heart. Lord please give me the intelligence to do this. I know I'm lazy and apparently am not studying enough (hello!) My self confidence is just crap now (it was fine before I started 3 weeks ago... ahhh. Well, there is a slim chance I won't flunk out (very slim) or have a mental breakdown (or both). God be with us! Off to study. Peace!

3rd shift weekends sat and sun? YUCK
I recently began working 3rd shift at a cbrf as a nursing assistant. I am scheduled every other Friday and also have to work every other weekend. Is this the norm? Realistically I will not be able to schuedule a normal weekend away when every other Friday night I work and then the following weekend Saturday and Sunday. I asked my weekends be changed to Friday and Saturday night or even Friday Saturday and Sunday but to have the other weekend actually off so I can enjoy some real weekends off with my family. The scheduler administrator will not give me an answer. I left a note under her door, emailed her twice and left her a voice mail. I don't feel like I'm being unreasonable. AND I'm also thinking that it extremely rude of her not to even acknowledge my request. Thanks for listening!!! Has anyone had this kind of scheduling problem?

Fired without a cause
Thanks for your replies! I was there 9 mos and it is my only real experience as a CNA. In general I guess I am only comfortable with honest and one of the first questions with a new job is why did you leave your last employer... ah! I do appreciate your replies TONS! I have an interview tomorrow (not in the medical field, but the same concerns apply). I just pray that if I prepare myself in every other aspect for the interview, God will provide me with the right words. xoxoxox

Fired without a cause
What can you do? I was fired from my last employer for being present when another aide was rough with a resident and I didn't report it. The reason I didn't report it: to my knowledge it didn't happen. I did not see the aide being rough with the resident. The DON said the incident was investigated however they hadn't even spoken to the CNA being accused handling a patient rough so how could that even be possible? This was in Sept and I still haven't found employment because guess what, "I got fired" has left me left at the phone interview. I obviously TRY to choose my words carefully without resentment or lack of honesty but I have not been able to even get an in person interview at a hospital. This last experience has left me with a sour taste for nursing homes so I choose not to apply for those jobs. I loved working with the residents but the politics not so much. Can anyone relate to this? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to portray this situation to potential employers? I'm so frustrated. I had a lead call me today from a hospital and I shot myself in the foot again because I just want to be honest but came across I'm sure as muffled and not confident. Thanks Peeps!! :heartbeat
