Forum for those who have applied to Decatur Memorial's CRNA program. Good luck!
I sent all of my references the nursing cas link and it shows they completed their recs but the grad admissions department said they haven't received any of them. I guess they need to fill out a specific form but is that form included in the nursing cas link or do I send the form to them and they upload it to the nursing cas link?
Finishing up this program now, I would not recommend it. The program culture is snide, mean and toxic which is perpetuated by administrators. The program doesn't value a school/life balance for students. The program encourages working students to the ground for high case numbers and long hours. If you are scheduled to leave at 5, but your case is ongoing, the program rule is that you are obligate to stay until the end.

Decatur Memorial's anesthesia department has a ton of challenging personalities that you have to navigate to graduate from the program. The challenging personalities are also very close to the medical and program directors. Navigating the politics of that dynamic is difficult as a powerless, vulnerable SRNA/RNAI. If you look at the RNAI/SRNA handbook, you'll get a good sense of some of the challenges you may encounter as an RNAI there. If you get in somewhere else, definitely go there instead of here. If you choose to come here, you can certainly make it through. Most students do. There's no way to confirm anything that's online, but where there's smoke, there's usually fire.
