Military wife here and new grad LPN.
Congrats! The biggest challenge I've found is having to change jobs when we PCS. Each community has it's own dynamic. His last duty station it was easy to find work. This one it's been hard. Around here it's not what you know or your experience, it's WHO you know!
Thanks! Where exactly are you in Georgia?
Savannah area. Where are you?
Columbus.

Hello! I am an Army wife! Husband is stationed at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA. I was an LPN and graduated with my RN in 2009. I applied at every hospital in Augusta and didn't even hear back for an interview, etc from any hospitals but Select Specialty, so I would say that yes, it's been a bit difficult to find hospital work in the area. I have 2 years of recent Hospice experience and was offered an RN Case Manager position the first week I arrived in the area.

Hi, Im a navy wife and completed my BSN in Dec 2010. I am currently working medsurg/telemetry in our hometown till my hubby is finished with training. I am hoping that I can find a job because I am afraid my status as a newbie will hurt me once we get to his first duty station.

I am also a military wife. I stayed in WA and worked at DOC while applying for every single opening position in Gulfport, MS area. I got a few offers within a month of applying non-stop but declined them due to low pay. Then I realized over the 6 month course of being away from my husband that I couldn't handle it anymore and also that people in the South just get paid horrible. Sooo... I accepted a job at Biloxi Regional:) Starting orientation in a month!

Hi there! I'm an Army wife...Fort Stewart! I'm an LPN too. I graduated 09 and had my baby in Jan., took the year off to spend with my family and just now started looking for work but it seems like I should have been job hunting last year! It definitely seems to be a bit difficult to find work between here and Savannah.

USAF wife here ! We are new to Georgia at Warner Robins AFB. Recently graduated from a BSN program, left my LPN in our previous state, and passed my RN boards Saturday! Seriously looking for a job! I also recently found out that I'm 10 1/2 weeks pregnant!!! Now I'm worried that I'm not going to be able to get/keep a job since I'm pregnant! Suggestions?
