military perks?

I have been searching online for military discounts and reading all sorts of stuff. I am phone shopping. The Iphone and the Motorola X have me totally phone crazed and I am trying to decide between the two factoring in the discount.

I have read that AT&T provides a 15% discount but only on the phone service and not the data plan or messaging fees.

Verizon has a discount but online it looks like anywhere from 15 to 18% and applies to everything.

Does anyone have the 411 on the actual discounts related to military phone numbers.

call the provider or google, they are always changing.. att does things like having a % discount but often only applying it to things like services over 30.00 in cost so it might only apply to certain components of your overall bill. Are you in the military? Branch? Active or?
