I have been an OB nurse for 6 years now and I have thinking of joining the military reserves. I just don't know which one yet! I have looked into the Arm reserve, the Army national guard, the Air force reserve and the Navy reserve. Is there a website that anyone knows of that can help me narrow my decision down? Or does anyone have any info they can share about the military reserves/national guard for nurses? I do not have my BSN yet but I am currently working on it and I know I will need that before I can join.

Any info you have will be greatly appreciated!

yuma nurse, how long until you have your BSN? Have you explored the various military websites? Your best bet would be to speak to a healthcare recruiter for whichever branch you decide on, or for all of them. Be aware that this is a long process -- all branches of the service are very competitive right now as far as getting in, even into the Reserves, and the selection boards don't occur as often as they used to. Most branches have selection boards once a year, and most are coming up now with the new fiscal year having just started.

Anyone have any info on the STRAP program? How do I find out if the university I have been accepted to is considered accredited by the ARMY?

STRAP is currently only for those ADN RNs who are already in the Reserves and who are working on their BSN. The Army recognizes NLNAC or CCNE accredited BSN programs.
