2 of my fellow L&D nurses just got back from a week of volunteer work with this organization.
They had a great experience and I wanted to post the website in case anyone on here is interested.
They definitely need people over there!
I may try and go someday if I can.

Thanks for posting this. I went into nursing school because I wanted to be a midwife, and that's all.

Very cool. Sometimes I wish I was single with no children. All the philanthropic opportunities that I wish I could do.
DH and I talk about joining the Peace Corps after all the kids are grown up and out of the house.

Very cool!!! This is something I'd go do in a hearbeat after my dh gets his papers all straight. :)
I follow a blog of some missionary folks in Port-au-Prince who have a prenatal clinic as well as a midwife-run birthing center. I love reading their stories, because it reminds me that birth doesn't have to be the technological nightmare we (on the whole, not speaking specifically of any one person) make it out to be in the US. And, I just love Haiti anyway, having been there once myself. :redbeathe
Thanks for sharing!! :)
