Midwestern State University Fall 2013

Does anyone have any information about Midwestern's Fall 2013 nursing class? I am so confused! I applied, but for weeks I didn't receive any email so I wasn't even sure if my application went through. So I called them and the lady said she sent me an email for a background check, but I never got it so she sent it again. Now that it's been a month since then, I am so lost. Most of the other nursing schools have more information online, or a place where you can check the status of your application. But I'm not receiving anything from Midwestern so I'm afraid they're going to email me and I won't get it! I emailed her again a few days ago, and I just got an email about getting my fingerprint done.

I applied for fall 2013 semester as well. Did my finger print sometime last point. I called the school today and I was told I got admitted into the program with 71.5 point and should be expecting my admission letter next week. I wish you all the best.

Does anyone know what the cut off point was for admission for the Fall program?

dannnggg 71.5 is a lot! I think mines is in the 50s. congrats btw!

My name is diana I applied for the fall 2013 nursing prog @mwsu. I went to wichtafalls on Wednesday to find out about the admission letter for fall and I was told we are all getting it next week. The cut off point is 63. I was told by the counsellor that I will get in so good luck everyone. I wish you the best next week as you all get your admission letters.

Dang 63 is a lot, ahh!! I definitely don't think I have that many points. I think it's dumb that they made us do the background check before giving out admissions because it sucks to waste that much money on a background check, and then you don't even get accepted.

Yea, I barely made it because I still owe some perquisite which I will be taking this summer. I was right at the cutoff point. I will encourage you to hope for the best.

Does anyone know if they do a waiting list? And if so, how many will they put on the wait list??

I just talked to the advisor and I had 58 points so I did not get in. The cutoff was 63 points. She said there are 20-30 students in front of me on the wait list so if people drop out, more students will get in. She told me not to give up hope because sometimes the wait list will go down to number 50. Just some info for those of you who might not have gotten in! Dont give up! :)

I have 54 points and she said I'm somewhere around the 30s on the wait list.

thanks i will call tomorrow to find out my fate:( i don't understand this point thing yet..like for the gpa how many points are there.

For your overall gpa, you get 1 point for each 0.1 over 2.5.

My overall gpa is 3.2, so that would get me 7 points.

Then you get 1 point fo every 0.1 over 3.0 for your gpa of BSN prereqs. My gpa for BSN prereqs is 3.4 so that gives me 4 points.

But your main points are calculated based on if you got a C or above in your classes. I hope this makes sense.
