Middle Georgia State University Fall 2018 ASN

Published

Hey Y'all!

I am just wondering who all has applied to Middle Georgia State University this fall for the ASN program???

Yes we got this. We just have to think about the outcome and us being future nurses.

Mine is July 11th??? But hopefully we will be in the same!

I'm sorry mine too I got my dates mixed up with my son orientation for school.lol

I'll be there. See ya'll July 11th!

See ya there!:)

Is there anyone else who is awaiting an acceptance letter? I applied to the BSN program. I was told the second round of letters are going out the week after May 8, so that should be this week. Also, for those of you that were accepted to the ASN program, is Cochran the only campus the ASN program is going to be offered at for fall 2018?

I am in the ASN program and I am not entirely sure about the campuses, but I am having to attend at Cochran. I believe Macon is the only campus for BSN.

Hello yes Asn for fall is the Cochran campus. And the asn for spring may be the Dublin campus. But I got accepted this fall so i will be attending the Cochran campus.

Hey I'm about 2hr away from the Cochran campus as well how do you plan to commute ? Are classes everyday?

Hello guys! I know that it has been like over a year since this forum was open, but I am applying for the fall of 2020 MGA term and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on the ASN nursing program. What should I expect? Is there a lot of reading? Are the teachers good? How hard is it? Thanks and let me know!

I think I have a good chance of getting in. I have an 83 TEAS and a 4.0 GPA, but I just am nervous about the courseload. People are telling me I will NOT be an A student anymore, which is okay with me, but it still makes me nervous!

Hey!!!! I am Savanna, I am a 3rd semester ASN student at MGA!

You should except: excitement, stress, lots of coffee or tea if you are a tea drinker, crying moments, joyful moments, sad/mad moments, but at the end it is allllllllll WORTH IT!

First semester: believe it or not is a BREEZE compared to 2nd semester and so far 3rd semester. 1st semester you have one class Fundamentals. When I was in first semester I had Mrs. Daly and Mrs. Hill. They are AWESOME instructors! I wish they would have followed my cohort all the way up through semesters! Mrs. Hill is the sweetest person I have ever met, Mrs. Daly is an EXCELLENT teacher. Although professors change left and right and if you get in there you may actually have new instructors.

Reading... lol

Honestly that is the only way I can understand and comprehend something is by reading and re writing my notes from lecture. Reading is a HUGE part in nursing school. Everything you need to know not only comes from your lectures or clinicals but also your books. I read every single chapter 2-4 times before a test. BUT with that being said you don’t want to over read. You have to learn your style of studying (which includes reading) and know what, where and how much to read of something with lecture as a guide. On the other hand: a lot of people don’t read and they just listen to lecture, it all depends on you and your way of learning.

Test we take as nursing students are 10475829839274764% completely different than the test we take in core classes or high school. It is about application and priority. Ever heard the saying “which orange is the orangest?” That is how our test are. Every single answer maybe correct but you have to choose which answer is the MOST correct based on priority and application. You have to be able to apply what you have learned and link it to other things such as possible interventions and outcomes and education and possibly adverse side effects and so on. You have to know anything and everything about something that affects someone whether it is a disease process or medication etc...

MGA ASN program (in my opinion) has not only prepared me for NCLEX this far but really focuses on how I can be the best nurse I CAN BE in every way POSSIBLE. Being accepted into the nursing program especially MGA ASN, has taught me more about myself than I have ever known, has made me confident in myself more than I have ever been, and has truly made me a better person all the way around but not only that, a better Nursing Student than any other school around in my opinion. I am PROUD to wear my ASN uniform and represent my program and school because of how amazing they are

Yes it it is hard. It is not easy. But if you want to be there you will be there. NOTHING easy is worth having for, you have to WANT it! And again, I will proudly say I am the best student nurse I can be because of MGA ASN program and the staff who has helped me get thus far.

Just remember take it one day at a time. Don’t over stress (which sounds impossible), remember to breathe, and study! Because you aren’t in “college” anymore.

Keep these little sayings in mind in mind as you go on your journey through nursing school:

You are giving up your whole life (in this time frame) to be able to save another persons’ life one day.

It is not about how hard YOU can hit, IT IS about how hard YOU CAN GET HIT and GET BACK UP AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD!

If you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe... then you WILL BE SUCCESSFUL.

Always remember that!

YOU got this.
